The Clash weren't a good band and their music is largely poor.

I'm going to add some background to that, when I was 17, I thought the Clash were great, and I own every Clash album, but I never listen to them now because the music is generally poor and a bit boring.

Pah - the Exploited and Crass were crap, Sham 69 were absolute gash, but the Clash were good.
Maybe 40 years have moderated the awe. And yes, they were art school boys .

Probably extends to ABBA, Brian Adams and Taylor Swift

I think ABBA are great and I don't care who knows it.
