Re: What have you done today thread?
Today, I’ve been to That London for an interview near Tower Bridge, long day made worse by blisters on both heels from shoes I thought were well broken in.
I think the interview went well, next step is to meet the stakeholders in the business who are moving towards semi-retirement therefore need someone to look after part of their client portfolio.

I've painted the top blocks for the door facings so far. Another coat and they can be glued to the wall. Horrid glorified paper things but there's muttering about changing the floor and that'll mean taking off the skirtings etc. And all the mdf I've used so far was free. It's still shit stuff though.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Decided that the recent riots, the cost of living crisis and all the other travails this country has are insignificant when faced with the current dearth of decent one-liners coming out of the Edinburgh Fringe. I mean, seriously...
Olaf Falafel: My desire to spontaneously sing The Lion Sleeps Tonight is always just a whim away.
Jack Skipper: I failed RE. Couldn’t believe it when I found out. I was like: “Oh Jason Christ!”
Zoë Coombs Marr: My girlfriend told me she’s never seen the film Gaslight. I told her: “Yeah you have … we watched it together.”
Eleanor Morton: How do you know that Edinburgh is the most haunted city in the UK? You measure it with a spirit level.
Amy Mason: I recently read 10% of sheep are gay – turns out there’s nowt so queer as flock.
Raul Kohli: My aunty is Indian, German and a terrible human being. She’s the curry wurst.
Louise Atkinson: I call myself the Yorkshire Shakira; her hips don’t lie, and mine don’t faff about.
Abby Wambaugh: Cabinets: what are they hiding? Tables: are they really furniture – or just more floor on stilts?
Demi Adejuyigbe: I don’t like when a casino says: “House rules.” It got a little boring for me in the last season.
Chris Turner: The Romans invented Vaseline. Or was it Ancient Grease?
I mean, you can find funnier in the Jokes thread, and that's bloody dire.

Packed the van and will shortly be heading north for the annual Ixion @ Cadwell TD and social with @2xtwins , @Dodgy69 and my brother Bash.

We've got five very different bikes (well four bikes and a trike
) between us to play on , 2.5 days on track starting tomorrow, interspersed with plenty of laughs, beer , and I suspect at least one visit to the Helal Tandoori

When we came back to the car yesterday, the whole roof was covered with flying ants. I think I brought a few home with me.

They're probably off regaling all their mates with tales of how far and fast they can fly now.

We've had loads more ants this year than previous. I don't mind 'em (as long as they're outside). Interesting things.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I don't remember it happening at all before about 2000. I do remember seeing lots of earwigs when I was a kid. Hardly ever see one now.
PS never saw a hornet in this country until a handful of years ago. Regular sight now. They're impressive!

Re: What have you done today thread?
We were buying a rotisserie chicken the other day and Bea said "Look dad, ants". “Ok, give me a sec, and don’t worry there are ants eve….holy shit!” They were easily over a centimetre in length!
