Within the short space of a conversation with the business owner, he said, “I bet it’s one of the Nox sensors” on hearing an Adblue injector had been replaced before I bought it.
I hadn’t arrived home before he called to inform me the diagnostics machine had confirmed the rear Nox sensor was showing “out of range” readings. £475 for the part, £90 diagnostics fee and £110 labour, all plus VAT.
I called the trader I bought it from, he took the details and said he’d call his local specialist garage and come back to me. I was expecting lots of if, buts and maybes before being told to stump up for it myself.
Nope, he duly called back saying part price was correct, labour & diagnostics were a bit high and that the part wasn’t covered by the warranty but as a gesture of good will, he’d pay for everything for me, asked me to get the garage to contact him for payment which he has done and the car will be back with me tomorrow morning

Had a BBQ tonight.
Man I fucking hate BBQs. A monumental faff and waste of time for stuff you could easier throw in a pan or under the grill.

I don't hate BBQs, but I definitely agree with the 'ease of use' argument. Having said that, a properly grilled sea bass cooked sympathetically on a BBQ is hard to beat.

+1 for the BBQ tonight.
The Dutch neighbours came over for their annual chinwag.
One spoonful of cumin, cayenne pepper, garlic salt and 3 of paprika into a placcy bag, toss the chicken in, shake, done.
Swmbo made a marinade for the pork. Salmon in foil, salad from the garden, how hard is that!

I do like food from a BBQ, but: it's a huge faff to cook a couple of burgers for 2 people who don't eat much, so we never light the thing up unless we have guests enough to warrant the effort.

Re: What have you done today thread?
For those situations we bought a 'bucket barbecue' which we used for a few years to do a couple of bits of meat or chicken or kebabs etc. Worked absolutely fine.Rockburner wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2024 7:40 amI do like food from a BBQ, but: it's a huge faff to cook a couple of burgers for 2 people who don't eat much, so we never light the thing up unless we have guests enough to warrant the effort.

Re: What have you done today thread?
After yesterday's tumble I was in a lot of pain so decided to head to the hozzy.
Were very thorough and after the x-ray, the doctor called in the traumatologist as she wasn't happy.
He prodded and poked and decided I have damaged ligaments to needed a cast on.

Gas is the answer to this quandary. Turn on, Cook, turn off. Easy peasy. Charcoal for a biggy.

I've whined at EE enough to end my contract with them, I'll get my internet from somewhere else.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Went to a bike 'show' up at Wray, nr Lancaster. Turned out it was mostly hundreds of average to shit bikes parked in a field with a massive queue for overpriced shit food and warm flat beer.
Nothing really gives me the feels bike wise nowadays, there were a couple of well looked after TRX850s (one with a speedblock paint job)parked next to an xsr900gp which looked way better than the new bike, an ancient side valve Peugeot thing with the valve springs visible on the outside of the cylinder, and a couple of the triumph speed twin 1200 things which looked tidy but I still think my Griso looks a fair bit nicer than most bikes out there. I'm obviously biased though
I think I'm getting to the point where what the bike does is way more important than what it looks like now.
Won't stop me being an opinionated arse whenever some hair baked custom shed gets posted on here though
