The clouds covering the cliffs looked awesome. Phone camera didn't quite catch it

I was out for a couple of hours round the north Pennines in Co Durham. Despite the dry sunny weather the roads were pretty quiet

Had a fantastic ride this morning, weather was perfect. Roads were mostly good with little traffic. Nice 100 odd mile loop.

Bikes everywhere, luckily I got to the cafe about 5 mins before most of this lot turned up :D a lot of them were on a group ride out.

Came home via popping into my mate's for a cuppa. Good day all round

Part of the reason I ride solo majority of the time. Got a message saying can someone join me, but they didn't send it till gone 9 and I'd taken that photo by the lavender by then. They then didn't leave the house till midday. I'd rather be home and in shorts and flip flops by then 8-)

Plus traffic build up starts the later you go, early Sunday mornings are blissfully traffic free

I just had a quick look to see if Mablethorpe and the roads around are what I remember (Mrs. D is from Louth, so I've been up that way loads).

That's all pretty boring, but I did spot something odd on Google maps satellite view.

I love the Lincs coast. Wife's parents had a house in Mabethorpe facing Victoria park and I spent my childhood holidays there. We go regularly.

Nope, it's a 2016, in 2017 is was an option and the year after they launched the 1250 which had it as default.

It's a run out model Triple Black, so it's got every option going. Alarm, Keyless ride, ESA, spoked wheels, cruise, heated grips, spot lamps (I never use), LED headlight with high bean assist, etc.

It was the first year to get cornering abs too.

The build quality is fucking awful, all the paint is falling off the engine, but that's why I got it cheap.

The usual bike destination is Cleethorpes, but to mix it up a bit I sometimes throw in a bit of Mablethorpe or Withernsea/Hornsea.

The wife only ever wants to go to the seaside and the East coast is the nearest.

I made it up.

I've just googled it and it's not what I thought it was. It's just an option to switch between the DRL's or the low beam for day time riding.

I’m reminded of the seven year old e32 735i my father bought once upon a time. Every option but the seat backs were hanging off and it was on metric tyres. Bargain.

How was it? It looks sort of more CX500 than most MGs.
i really enjoyed it. the bike felt light and nimble and was good fun at legal speeds with an engine that likes to rev and likes to rumble. its more for country lanes and b roads than high speed routes.

only gripe was the seat was too soft. after about an hour it started to get a bit uncomfortable.
