Not the best time of year to buy a bike - the temperature has dropped now and I might not even get to ride it properly until spring, but with no bikes currently in the garage and cash burning a hole in my pocket I couldn't resist...

Not much of a project this bike, as its not even had its first MOT yet. However I do have some very minor plans which I may as well list here:
1. Rear axel bobbins that work with a paddock stand. There are no mount points for cotton reels on the swing arm. The bike came with crash bungs on both wheels but not groovy for the hooks.
2. Wider bars. The stock ones feel a bit narrow compared to my street triple. It feels like an 80s mountain bike. I'm thinking renthal superbike lows or maybe mediums.
3. New tyres. The bike is on its original bridgestones - BT23s? They must be made of mahogany or something as theres plenty of tread at nearly 4k miles. Something reassuringly short-lived might be preferrable.
4. Levers, maybe. It came with some short foldy things in anodised blue which I'm not sure about.
5. ECU remap. Its fitted with an akrapovic which sounds lush even with the baffle in. I imagine a remap will ensure against an over-lean state.

Can highly recommend Michelin Road 5 tyres I’ve got a Tracer 700 which I use for just about everything...commuting, training, fun, trackdays, etc etc. Believe it or not, I actually get 10,000 miles per set !! They warm up quickly, are fantastic in the rain and are grippy enough to run out of ground clearance.
Enjoy the new bike, you’ve made a fantastic choice ! It’s all you’ll ever need on the road, loads of fun....and bloody economical to run....which matters if you clock up lots of miles

Not necessarily. PR4s and 5s will last more than 4k and are more than grippy enough.

I noticed Fagan on 44T was hoiking them in 3rd on the launch bike so I'll see how I get on.

Never tried PRs so I'll give them a go, cheers.
Having read around a bit, the BT23s can't be that bad. They don't even look very squared off. I'm not sure the bike has ever been ridden with much aggression.

You’ll be stunned by how long tyres last on the 700’s ! I’m guessing it’s down to the lightweight and very smooth power delivery ? My bike gets used pretty hard and, as I said before, I’ve got exactly 10k each out of the last three sets of Road 5’s !

I've got fairly new PR5's on now. They replaced a set of PR4s. They were good to 5k, but then the profile went off and they were shagged by 6k. There was tread left but the handling was all over the shop. That was on a 690 Duke.
Grip wise they were great on road. On track I reckon you'd be pushing it if you were fast, they be fine at a lower pace though.

I'd deffo swap out those blue levers !
Regarding tyres, PR4 or 5s should give you everything you need. Shame you have a big 180 on the rear, With just over 70bhp you'd think that a 160 or 170 more than do the job.
