Is it a good spec or would you have a list of planned upgrades for it? :D

Apart from the (to me) astronomic price, it seems to be incredibly low geared. When I rode a bike I had a 50 something chainwheel, with about 12-22 on the back. It is either a very specialised mountain-climbing machine, or someones legs are going to have to whiz around very fast indeed.

Astronomic price? The boys bike was over double that.

Spec though is perfect out the crate. It's not designed for roads, it's a DH bike. You'll hit 20mph pedalling with that gearing but any more and it's either too fast to pedal or a 130rpm short sprint for the line

Don't ask how much the Curtis cost.......the cost spiralled out of control like a USAF project.

At least with fixed priced bikes they're fixed. Well, until the upgrades start.

The Status2 though would be sweet straight out of the crate I bet.

I didn't think the price looked particularly bad. That's why I asked if it needed upgrades. If it's all good quality stuff out of the crate then

The price is insanely good, they sold a lot of Status gen 1, I see loads at bpw, FoD, races etc. they're great value and this new one looks equally good value to me

Looks good. Does it come as DH out the box or enduro/single crown thingy?

When you compare the products side-by-side the motorbike looks much better value for money, however mountain biking is way more fun.

I managed to resist the first batch. But I do have plans at some stage to get one of these. It won't be a terribly long time anyway. Middle of next year I think
