Lots/Most things with ABS, be it car or bike, do that.

When you do an e stop you're supposed/advised to put your hazards on after all, particularly on a motorway. So they just make it automatic on lots of things. Might even be a requirement on cars, I'm not sure.

Being a Honda it wouldn't surprise me if they're one of the only bike manufacturers to bother with such things :D

It wasn't an emergency stop, just braking reasonably from 100+, if the ABS is cutting in braking like that I must be a riding God, because I've been braking that hard for years on bikes without ABS and never had any problems 😁

It's often based on deceleration rate, not ABS cutting in/out. It's just that only vehicles with ABS have all the sensing installed which allows the vehicle to even work out that you're braking hard. They can also base it on suddenly going from hard power to hard brakes, which is obviously normal for a track but on the road that'd often mean something unexpected happened.

I often think about buying a cheap Firestorm to play with.

Then I remember I already have three bikes I don't ride.

Maybe you should buy an expensive one to just park in your garage instead then.

It's done 10003 miles now, still got a nail in the back tyre, and it's still superb, my only complaint is that the seat could be comfier.

As I've put a little split in my seat from being a prat and dropping it I'm considering getting mine made more comfy. Mines fine most of the time, but the Cornwall trip and anything approaching 3 hrs starts getting a bit uncomfortable.

What exhaust did you end up staying with?

The Black Widow, it's quieter and smoother than stock, I'm probably loseing a bit of power, but the bike has so much power I don't notice it.

Pulled the nail out of the back tyre today (been in there for 5 months) as it was pissing air out, used a brown plug to fix it, so far it's holding air, we'll see if it continues to do so, first time I've repaired a motorcycle puncture in 41 years of riding.

I really like this colour scheme, probably the best modified CB1000R I've seen
