Portimao Nov 1st, 2nd & 3rd
That's me booked on
Been chatting to Smallboys track bike hire about using their GSXR1000 but he suddenly stopped chatting.
It's £1200 for the 3 days.
It's worth it as includes tyres and fuel and will save ferry costs.
I'll take mine if they pull out.

I'm very envious! I might even be in a situation that I could book it, except I'll be learning to be a bus driver
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!!

Looking good, Craig.
As @Couchy might say, you should be able to win inters on that .
Hope the weather gods smile on you .

Re: Portimao Nov 1st, 2nd & 3rd
Well, all seems OK.
Had huge problems last week. Pain in both hips and stabbing pain in shoulder.
Had 2 injections in hips and walking ok, but might have pain getting flat on tank.
Shoulder is finally responding to Tramadol/paracetamol
Was scared I wouldn't be able to ride but short ride just now was OK.
Was ordered to rest my shoulder so no swimming or riding which knocked back my fitness regime a bit
I'm really anxious and thought I'd be OK.
Ferry with bike and riding to circuit was easy for my head.
But I've now got flights and hire cars to worry about.
Pen's arranged all that as no way I could do it. And last year she did same flight then hire car, so she's talked me through it all.
I'm not excited yet as so much to 'beat' in last 7/10 days.
It'll be reet

Re: Portimao Nov 1st, 2nd & 3rd
Here I am at Portimao race circuit for next 3 days.
Rather than all the expense of shipping my bike over, I'm renting one of theirs.
Same bike, GSXR100, but stripped down for track.
Lighter, faster and better all round.
And they're also gonna let me ride their Triumph 765 Moto2 bike. Woohoo

Drizzle on and off all day. Track nowhere near dry so came home.
Just missed the monsoon which has just closed the circuit

Dry overnight and roads dry.
Must have been local shower at circuit as it's wet, but sun is out.
Will dry soon

Re: Portimao Nov 1st, 2nd & 3rd
First session was behind instructer. Something felt wrong. When they let us free, the problem got worse.
Next session they sent me out on the 765. Hated it with a passion.
Was worried I'd have to ride that. But I helped them diagnose the problem.
Woo hoo. Like mine on rails. Handling better. Brakes better. Speed on straight was less than mine
But a great package. Now to remember where the track goes

Re: Portimao Nov 1st, 2nd & 3rd
It's nice being pampered. Warmers, pressures, fuel, paddock stands. All done.
I just chill then ride the bugger.
Will be doing a few of these next year. Expensive, but sod it
Another sunny day.

Re: Portimao Nov 1st, 2nd & 3rd
I've thought about those before, just couldn't justify the expense (even if I had the money!) with such a spazzy arm.
But hopefully I'll be on a sports bike next summer and if the arm manages the mountain passes, I'll come and meet you at a TD!! (Different groups please - don't want you to get all upset!! )
