TT 24
ITV4...have the highlights starting with qualifying next Friday night 10.30 ish, then racing from 9pm Saturday. Hope the weather's good for the racing and anyone going. I thought about it, but taking Mrs D to Yorkshire instead for some Ebike time.

Re: TT 24
44TT20 for a 20% discount on the TT+ package if you want it? Takes it down to £16 for the year
IIRC the TT+ is where ITV4 get their coverage from, plus there's loads of extra stuff. You get access to everything for a full 12 months so it's outstanding value for money.

Re: TT 24
So sooooo envious. Haven't been for years n years!!
If going over the mountain is on the list, try very early or in the evening whilst most of the loons are in the pub. The mountain will get closed a lot due to accidents, so pick your times. They're very hot on the speed limits they have, but it's a bloody awesome place and awesome to watch

Re: TT 24
I've been a few times, never bothered taking the bike, the place is full of track day gods & Fkwits, good luck getting a few runs over the mountain,be interesting to see how many attempts it takes before you're allowed past Ramsey
I go to the Classic TT most years, take my bike,it's a bit more 'chilled'.I'll be there again this August

Re: TT 24
One of my 'golden rules' was always to ride the circuit in the same direction as the racers. That way you were going the same way as the lunatics trying to do a 'fast lap' and pulling overtakes at idiotic spots. I've seen enough 'bike on bike' accidents at the TT to never ride 'against the flow' during TT fortnight. I also used to make quite a lot of use of the coast road between Ramsey and Douglas (going through Laxey) as it seemed to have a lower idiot quotient.
There is no cloud, just somebody else's computer.

Re: TT 24
Blimey, they're bloody quick. First sessions out and they're popping in near enough 130mph laps from a standing start.
The TT+ coverage seems far more stable this year early on as well. Top stuff. Well worth the £16 for a year already.

Re: TT 24
Riding the wrong way is wierd. You don't know where you are. I'd imagine every competitor would be much slower going the wrong way. Be an interesting question for McGuinness and Co.

Gotta be pretty serious if they closed it a little before 1400 and then cancelled evening practiceBustaspoke wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 6:27 pmRTA on the mountain section,no surprises there...

Annoying for racers and fans, but I suspect worse for whoever crashed
