The sister and I at a party yesterday with the mother unit.

When asked who she wanted to drive her home... she said she wanted to go in the nice car, so I had to driver her in my nice S90.

The other option was an Audi Q5... which apparently isn't as nice as a Volvo.

Couple of years back i got a shitty old V50. My van engine blew so this was to be used as a work motor. The leather seats were so cracked they had moss. It stank and had lots of small dents but it had a years MOT. I stole it at 250 quid. One of my customers seen it and told me it Oozed class

Trust me this photo does it justice

I sort of don’t mind spending high end money on high end sports cars but my Caterham was fifty grand (relative peanuts) and will piss on most of them.

So I dunno really.
You have to wonder why " the best car on the planet" is only £5K ?

Is it because it costs £4K a year to keep on the road?

Any 18 year old car that still fetches 5k is probably doing something right.

That's the Bonhams auction lower estimate.

It's only at 11k so far, but the reserve isn't met.

I bet their buyer fee is top dollar too.

C&P...

Buyer’s premium
7% of the winning bid (minimum £700), plus 20% VAT on the Premium only.

So 27% on top of the hammer price, eek!

Eh? If it goes, say, for 20k, premium is £1400. 20% on that is, um, £280 so £1680 on £20k.

8.4% in my maffs.

(Which may be wrong  ).

Oh yeah, the VAT is only on the premium, my brain hadn't mastered that bit yet.

I only spotted it because I was looking at Cerebras, the prices for those are all over the shop, anywhere between £8k and £28k!

Yeah. Buying a TVR's like playing hopscotch in a minefield. I looked once upon a time, at a dedicated TVR dealers stock, but decided it was all a bit too risky unless it was a 3rd car. (Even from a dealer with some sort of warranty and close enough to do the servicing). They're a bit 'kit car'. Look nice though.

Yeah, I found the Tuscan because I was looking at Cerberas.

I remember the Tuscan being launched, the review cars were that flip paint, it was all the rage at the time, but it's aged better on the Tuscan than on the boy racers Corsas. IIRC the button that activated the door 'poppers' was on the underside of the wing mirror, that's about all I know about Tuscans... that and there's no traction control or stability program, so they can become a handful, very quickly.

EDIT:

Or was it the Griffith that tried to murder you every time you drove it?
