XSR900GP
Re: XSR900GP
I think that was the gist of it.
It rides lovely and feels proper quality, everything is finished to a high standard, the looks are definitely marmite though. I like it and it really does look better in the flesh.

Re: XSR900GP
The single R Speed Triple comes with Öhlins front and rear, a big three cylinder engine and a 12k price tag. I'd rather have one of them.

The navy blue/white/red paintscheme's are my favourite Yamaha colours, all that example needs is a couple of small round headlights

Re: XSR900GP
I know it's probably heresy in some quarters, but the Yamaha 'speed block' thing does nothing for me. And that headlight is stupid.

Re: XSR900GP
In looks alone, from a few meters away I think they all look pretty good, I’m not getting the criticism because I think they’re a good looking bike. And if they ride well then that’s also obviously a very good thing.
So my only complaint really is the price vs the components.
But I suppose even then, if it all works well together then it’s possibly more than the sum of its parts and the aforementioned Ohlins and stuff isn’t necessary.
Maybe it’ll get well discounted after the hype dies away and it’ll end up much more keenly priced on showroom floors.

Re: XSR900GP
Different people have different tastes, I think it looks minging, but it could be a good bike, I don't know as I haven't ridden one, and I'm not going to test ride a bike I don't want to buy.

To be fair its not a bad replica of an FZ750.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 7:09 am Different people have different tastes, I think it looks minging, but it could be a good bike, I don't know as I haven't ridden one, and I'm not going to test ride a bike I don't want to buy.
I’m a fan of the original and I’ll grant you it’s not as good looking as an original FZ but I don’t think it’s minging.

Re: XSR900GP
CMC at Claycross posted on Friendface that they've just had them land in the showroom, so I expect you'll see them in most yam dealers by the weekend.

Headlight does look a bit challenging. Possibly better in flesh, maybe.

T'lads are out on launch.
I'm disappointed, back in my day the line of bikes would have been much longer and there would have been an artistic curve to it.

Re: XSR900GP
Demos are available now, I left enquiries at two places and they've both phoned me saying they're available now, but it will be next week when I get chance.

Re: XSR900GP
I couldn't be arsed to watch it all, but towards the end Wull's Hero Rea takes the GP for a lap of the NW200...
