Re: A right now thread
Gradually learning “Dont’t let the sun go down in me” on the Piano. Have the intro & verse sorted, learning the chorus at the moment.
Finally got my shit together after years & years of want to learn the piano and purchased a rather nice one and signed up to a fantastic online tutorial in January.
Nearly mastered the soundtrack to ‘Skyfall’ now and Interstellar, plus a couple of other songs.

Kinda wish I could get blue badge - I'm scared to try and get one as they might say if I'm spazzy enough for the blue badge then I can't have a bike/bus licence

Which piano? I'm interested in the tutorial, I need a kick in the pants to get me going again. Link?r1flyguy wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 11:16 am Gradually learning “Dont’t let the sun go down in me” on the Piano. Have the intro & verse sorted, learning the chorus at the moment.

Re: A right now thread
I've mentioned before (probably in this thread!) about how I've been going for actual guitar lessons recently, having noodled about on the ol' six string for many years before that.Count Steer wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 3:42 pmWhich piano? I can highly recommend it. It probably comes down to how your brain works quite a lot, but I've found having someone focusing on the foundational theory really good. Plus someone who gives you homework and a ticking off if you don't do it

Absolutely the best thing to do. I also had professional tutoring and if anything, it explained and or gave names to what I'd learnt over the years. I now subscribe to Ricky Comisky. He's a great teacher and a bloody good laugh. He's helped fill in the other bits that I either forgot or missed along the way. Highly recommend you have a look.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 6:41 pmI've mentioned before (probably in this thread!) about how I've been going for actual guitar lessons recently, having noodled about on the ol' six string for many years before that.Count Steer wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 3:42 pmWhich piano? It does rather spoil some songs for me though, seeing behind the curtain on how it's done so to speak
On the other hand, it makes you realise the genius and inventiveness of other acts!

Re: A right now thread
True. (I had a couple of years of lessons, did exams etc and had a stint studying musical theory. I just reached a point where I didn't get any better/ran out of talent ). I just need something to get me lifting the lid and probably just learning to boogiwoogie/vamp a bit.Mr. Re: A right now thread
I purchased a Kawai ES920 after visiting my local piano shop and the sales guy there playing various pianos @ as much as I would love a proper acoustic piano I settled for the electric one for now as it has so many features and I can put it away in a wardrobe if I need to (which I haven’t yet)Count Steer wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 3:42 pmWhich piano? The tutorial I signed up for is https://www.musora.com/
They have piano, drums, guitar & vocal
You can check them out on YouTube if you search for Pianote.
Hope that helps

Re: A right now thread
Trying to calm down from sheer panic.
Got to ferry dock for ferry from here (G.C.) to Huelva.
Nada. I'm not booked on. Showed him all my booking details, told me to go to office.
They had a ticket waiting for me. The boat has been diverted and now going to Cadiz. I booked thru a third party site and they hadn't told me.
I've booked a hotel in Huelva tmrw night, but this will save me 2 hours ride.
I'm staying in Cadiz anyway over the weekend.
Pen's gonna give them a bollocking and try to get refund on hotel
My heart sank and was in real panic as I've paid a lot for this weekend riding at Jerez.
And true to Canarian time, not started boarding yet. Ramps still up.
Supposed to sail in 12 minutes
