One of my outstanding memories as a kid in the Air Cadets was going to an air show and while we were watching some other plane a lightning came up from behind the crowd, and went almost vertical with the afterburners on above us. It was epic!

Ah yes, I can remember the days when displays weren't confined to X metres in front of the crowd line.

My memory is the Italian display team sneaking up behind and bomb bursting.

S'funny this should pop up, as they were mentioned in a work conversation yesterday. I thought they were long gone, but apparently, you can still buy them? Various versions of their pastes on toast were regular Sunday night fodder when I was growing up.
