My Jerez Adventure.
I'm riding Jerez May 5th, 6th and 7th.
Then 11th and 12th the following weekend.
The ferry from here to Cadiz sails Sunday morning so I'll be kicking my heels for 6 days. So decided to get the ferry to Huelva on Thursday.
Bugger, they don't stop here any more. So I've to get the ferry to Gran Canaria Wednesday and get the big ferry early Thursday morning.
The first 3 days is a package and hotels included
But the 2nd weekend is independent so need hotels. Well, summat's happening in Jerez town and hotel prices are ridiculous so need to travel about 10 miles east for reasonable priced hotel.
Pen's flying over for the second weekend.
I'm going on bike as don't need the trailer.
Getting excited

Re: My Jerez Adventure.
Safely on board the ferry to G.C. and starting to relax. Been stressful 2 weeks.
My anxiety really enjoyed sorting 3 ferries, 5 different hotels, the trackdays themselves, insurance and loads more.
And breathe

Re: My Jerez Adventure.
As a quirk of irony, this ferry to Spain from GC is the same one as I had from home to GC
Must use it on different routes.
And I've been given an outside cabin first time ever. Nice to have natural light

Re: My Jerez Adventure.
First session mainly sighting laps and remembering. Second session making mistakes. Too hard too soon.
3rd session started to flow. And smile
Knee down every corner so doing something right

Re: My Jerez Adventure.
Really enjoying it.
Got it sussed now.
Every lap just brake point, turn point, apex, drive. Ad infinitum
It's metronomic. Bang, bang, bang
Can just glide from bend to bend.

Re: My Jerez Adventure.
There's a guy in our garage on a trick KTM. Seems popular and chatting away to lots of folk.
No idea who he is, but I passed him a few times.
Just been told that it's Lyndon Poskit.
Had to Google him, but all the lads I'm with knew him

Re: My Jerez Adventure.
What an amazing 3 days. Luckily got lifts to and from the hotel to circuit with @scottyuk and RSVman then socialised with them all in the evenings.
I realised that my lap times weren't great so just concentrated on having fun. Getting the corners perfect every lap.
Most folk were obsessed with chasing lap times. I was on a bog standard road bike on road tyres so was very happy with my riding and big smiles every session.
Did just short of 400 miles on track.
The bike felt a bit flat sometimes and I never thought I'd think 200 BHP wasn't enough
Now a couple of chilling days before Pen arrives Friday.
Amazing hotel and superb buffet in the restaurant.

Always knew that, if we waited long enough, you'd be slow
Sounds like you're having an absolute ball That swimming etc stamina work is paying off too

Re: My Jerez Adventure.
Sounds like great fun, what a way to spend 3 days. 27MPG is more than I'd have expected as well!
I've never been fast so always concentrated on having fun where I could go as fast as I could without traffic/police/side turnings etc.

Re: My Jerez Adventure.
Just about to book Portimao and Jerez in October.
4 days Portimao. A day travel then 2 days at Jerez.
Same company, Redline
This retirement is bloody hard work.
