It's undoubtedly a nicer thing to drive than any 70/80s sports car!

I think anything that is focussed in one direction is going to be less generally versatile that an all-rounder, ITMS.

My new 911 was very usable, I think I said before that I could take my mum shopping in the morning and then do a trackday in the afternoon, but it's not even a shadow of how comfortable and plush your Range Rover will be in 99% of most road use applications.

I think I like them because my first Scalextric cars were a pair of Martini 934s

Speaking of 308's (quite a while back in the thread!) I saw a "spotted" on Pistonheads yesterday with one of the original fibreglass bodied ones which is 150kg lighter than the later steel ones...but it's gone now

However they also mentioned this lovely -pretty rare - green one, which is cheaper than that porker too!

It might appreciate, but then again it might crash spectacularly, they do that from time to time, like the economy, IIRC there have been a couple of 'classic' car crashes. I'm sure I read about a huge one in the late 80's, I wouldn't have been interested back then but I remember reading that some stuff lost massive amounts.

I made money on my last 911, bought it, drove it around for free and sold it for more than I paid, but it wouldn't be sensible to bank on it.

It's not unthinkable that there is another economic crash around the corner, although I don't know how many people would need to offload their £100k+ motorcars if a crash happened, surely you'd be crackers to put that amount of money into a car if you couldn't afford to take a big hit on it - although people do, plenty have been caught out with negative equity on all sorts of things, from houses to Rolex watches that they financed.

The crash is never permanent and classics always recover. Just keep sitting on it and enjoying it! Get it bought!

Its easy to go broke.

There needs to be more context. Sure you can be completely daft with investments, business deals, etc but you're not that, explain one possible scenario where you reckon you could lose all your house, savings, investments.
Not a massive stock market crash because that affects everyone

Somebody once said 'We're all just 2 mistakes away from living on the street'. Most of us don't make them or get away with just one I suppose. Easier to do if you do stuff like raise capital for your business against your house because of a cash flow problem. (Which is probably mistake number 2).

Went and had a look at this today, lovely looking thing, the pictures really don't do it justice.
It's clearly been nicely looked after too, it's almost forty years old but looks really good for it's years, it's got about 75k on the clock IIRC.
It's a hundred and twenty-five bags though, so it's funny money and there isn't really any way to justify or verify the car versus the price, you pay it or you don't I suppose.

I really do fancy it, as I said the pictures don't do it any justice at all, I could sit looking at it all day long, but having that sort of money tied up in a car when I'm not really a big car enthusiast just doesn't really sit right with me.

Is it a Turbo?
