Out at Aberfoyle (Gravelfoyle) testing the upgraded Vitus Substance Gravel Bike (a CRC cheapie).

It came with drop bars and mechanical brakes. Ive never liked drop bars and the mechanical brakes were scary!!
So into the spares bin. flat bars and hydro brakes.
Mrs SSS's eMTB in the background - on the ground - in one pic

Ive entered a 10hr race at Aberfoyle, so will either use this or the XC race hardtail.

Beautiful evening, still slippery under tyre though.

28 miles on the Evil EB today, 28 miles of clearing lung butter and sinus scum, it was like I was leaving a giant snail trail over the Downs.

Fecking lurgy, 10 miles with Drax on the MTB yesterday and my throat felt like the floor of a Parrots cage (a parrot with norovirus) and 5 mile walk with the dogs today into a fresh breeze and it’s lung butter and sinus scum time again🤬😪🫁🧈

Ride around the Mach 3 out of Machynlleth, and what a fantastic part of the world this is.

And just your normal bike and helmet left unlocked outside a caff in the town centre 😳😳

Cycled over to collect the van today on the ebike, these things are honestly ridiculous. I rode the manual over a few days ago to the same place and it was honestly a decent work out. Today was not even breaking sweat.

We then went to pump track later, now that did make me sweat, but I'm still bloody crap at it.
I did a lap on his DMR jump bike, yeah you can really feel the difference in how it rolls! Wow

11 miles with the boys, howling headwind up Longman climb, managed 180bpm(haven’t seen that for a while) but needn’t have worried about passing out as the the smell from the stinky dog after he went in the stinky pond was more potent than smelling salts.

180bpm is good going outdoors :D I find that sort of thing easier indoors.

Epocalypse into Friston today, 3/4 charge on the battery, spanked myself and the battery to flat in 24 miles and 3200ft of climbing. Annoyingly the Shimano battery indicator lies like a cheap whore and says full charge even though it isn't. They really ought to be able to show the correct amount of charge the battery has (guessing it's a crude voltage measurement).

Trails were pretty much perfect in most of the forest, usual bits on the top were still very squtchy so only went there once. Comedy off refusing to ride a strava line on a steep slope resulted in me getting tangled in a sapling and ejected down the hill.

Fitness is still lacking as I was making silly shoulder drop mistakes into corners towards the end but still managed some 3rd places on my favourite trails (which is 2nd in my head as Daryl Brown has the KOM!!😂😂).

Defo need a 2nd battery for grand tours though.
