I love the driving part of my job cos I get to see sunrises and sunsets and often an awesome full moon
Today I’ll be grinning a lot cos not only was there a full moon, at one point I was driving down a long straight, trees on one side, mountains either side and ahead, and it was like driving towards the moon. Blooming awesome. Sadly no photos as had passengers and so couldn’t stop. But it was proper lush

Aren't they Coal Tits? Although I suppose even they can get a bit nippy.Potter wrote: Sun Apr 21, 2024 7:34 am
My wife was asking me about the various types of Tit, I googled Cold Tits to show her a picture and didn't get the pictures I was expecting![]()

Herons, red throated mergansers, cormorants, herring gulls, black back gulls, common gull and the occasional swan on the sea loch outside.
It's odd seeing a flotilla a swans glide by on the sea.
There's also plenty of raptors and owls but I'm not sure which ones. Sea eagles, golden eagles for sure. And whatever causes small greyish birds to explode judging by the feathers in the garden. And something eats the dead small rodents the cat brings me as tribute. I leave them outside on The Rock of Sacrifice to placate The Gods.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
I crippled myself last year lifting a very drunk f-i-l up te steps into his place. Anything I did set my back off again and i'd end up laying down flat for half hour to recover as best as i could. Today I carried some concrete bricks thorough the house and down the bottom of the garden. Baby steps, but a month ago I couldn't have lifted one of them out of the car! Looks like playing pacman at the gym is working!

You need a wheelbarrow or a trolley. I have both.Taipan wrote: Sun Apr 21, 2024 9:47 am I crippled myself last year lifting a very drunk f-i-l up te steps into his place. It'd be hard to get the FiL up the steps in a wheelbarrow.

My youngest brother (30 ish, I can't remember) has just bought a plot of land with a derelict house and some other buildings at auction.
65 Acres
£565,000
I'm very very proud that he has put himself into a position to do such a thing.

In 60 years I’ve never had a double yoked eggs, so I was a tad please to get not one but two in one go!

Watching the wildlife from the window. Ponies have went round the other side of the law. Deer are off to bed and the Geese are all moving further up to another pond. I can hear an owl in the woods over the other side and the bats are out in force. Must be nice bugs flying around.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
I went to see my favourite band tonight. Ok, not my favourite après band as they are AWESOME-LY different!! This is my favourite local band - a rockabilly group.
I said hi to the drummer before they started and said I’d not be able to stay too late as I’m driving in the morning.
Well, I’ve just got home - bloody knackered; aching knees, legs, back, shoulders!!

. Ok, some of that was there before I danced for over two hours, but damn! It was fun

Looks like the guitarist/lead singer has changed permanently - but TBF, the current guy is freaking awesome

Fantastic last gig of the season

Canarian Easy Start
Was at a pal's house yesterday and he was trying to start his lad's quad bike.
No go so he went for the fly spray. Hey presto, started first time
He got the trick from one of his neighbours . At a fraction of the cost of the proper stuff

Gap in the drizzle and greyness lead to a cracking dog walk on the Downs.
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Dropping weight when I needed to.
For last 20 years I've wobbled between low 14st and low to mid 15st.
Dry January dropping me to the low point.
I'm always OK in my leathers on track around mid 14st.
But at next weekend's event at Jerez I need to wear a back protector.
So last 2 weeks I've been having fewer beers and cycling and swimming.
This morning 13st 13lbs and a bit.
Leathers fit great with back protector in. Woo hoo !!!!

You've got the same scales as me, but mine don't go down that low.
