Re: What have you done today thread?
Got a letter in a scary red bordered envelope with "Motor vehicle recall notice" on it.
BMW have changed the service schedule on my GS, the cardan shaft must be inspected every 20,000km and replaced every 60k.
BMW will foot the bill for the 60k replacement!
They've sent me a new page for the owners manual with the new service schedule on it!

Got my international drivers permit in case I want to hire a car in Japan.
Surprised that the Post Office have lost the contract to PayPoint which meant I had to go to a corner shop.
Money savings instead of convenience is the way of the world I suppose.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Tried to snooze this morning before work as the girl that did the planning only told me at 20:15 yesterday that I have a midnight pick up do go to GVA (in 5.5 hours!) so it was too late to change my hours with a colleague.
Don't think the girl realised that I was working till 19h so actually couldn't really sleep before getting up at 23:15
So I tried really hard to finish early and sort of managed, but still struggling to sleep

Skirting boards.....lots of skirting boards. Bedroom, wardrobe and en-suite.
My knees have aged 20 years, I reckon.

How short are you that you need a set of steps to do skirting boards?

Take em off before painting em. Should be doing that anyway if you're working with council house parquet?
Or do the correct thing and get a man in.

Cut them to size, paint them, then stick 'em to the wall with No Nails, just like the pros do...Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 7:57 pm Take em off before painting em. Should be doing that anyway if you're working with council house parquet?

The man I got in to do my oak ones screwed and no more nailed 'em on. So technically he wasn't defying the label.

Re: What have you done today thread?
If you've got posh oak skirting boards then No More Nails is a bit below par. Danish oil to bring out the figure of the wood, then fix with brass screws.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 8:07 pm The man I got in to do my oak ones screwed and no more nailed 'em on.
