I'll stick with the SV650,those dirt bikes are dangerous, I know someone down the road who was relieved of his Husky supermoto at knife point on a sunday afternoon a few weeks back

West Lancs,it's nice & rural, lovely villages & shithole towns. He got bikejacked at knifepoint on a sunday afternoon in Skelmersdale about 6 weeks ago.About 10 years back my mate's garage got broken into & the police reckon they weren't looking for his classic Jap bikes, but my XT600 that had been parked outside earlier.I've also seen a KTM ridden two up,helmetless through the middle of Ormskirk without a numberplate in the middle of the afternoon.Friend of a friend used to take his kids to MX,they got followed home & the garage cleaned out.I can go on...

A quick ride out at lunchtime today. Bright, but cool enough to need the winter gear on. Roads were dry, but so much water running off the hills. Potholes have bred, they're multiplying by the day.

I gave both the SV650 & the Street Triple a wash & a spin to dry them off.It was a bit of a challenge avoiding roads covered in mud or puddles..
I'd have took a photo of the Street Triple but I was more concerned about getting home before todays downpour commences

I hate putting a bike away after washing it too,I like them to be dry,so I try to do a short run. It's difficult these days to ride any distance at all without the bike getting dirty again.Bustaspoke wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 12:08 pm I was more concerned about getting home before todays downpour commences
I was up at 7.30 today and it didn't rain until after 11am,so I took the opportunity to get the bike out. Sideways wind and rain ensued, but I'm hopeful the late afternoon may afford another chance.

That’s where drying them with a blower comes in handy, I bought a pet one years ago which is way cheaper than the dedicated car/bike blowers and it’s never let me down, also has a heat setting which I’d use on the chain, after washing the bike I’d dry it fully then gently warm the chain before applying chain lube.Skub wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 1:16 pmI hate putting a bike away after washing it too,I like them to be dry,so I try to do a short run. Out for the first time this year, rode to Scunny to purchase a helmet, then onwards to Cleggy (wearing new helmet) for some chips, just about to set off home.

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
Puncture or not quite?
I had 3 punctures last year, 2 on the bike, 1 in the car Pisses me off the amount of nails/screws there are on the roads. Often walking the youngest to school I'll pick up 1 nail/screw a week I notice lying about.
