Obviously I'm so widely travelled and highly educated that I have no discernible accent, but I do like to talk like Eric Cartman from South Park at inappropriate times

And obviously I take any opportunity to talk like a pirate

Call centres are usually placed near cities with low wage rates., nothing to do with accents.

Except Glasgow of course, no bugger can understand a Glaswegegian accent.

Got chatting to a Yank in Jamaica some years ago, he was over on business setting up a call centre there. As he said, there's plenty of willing, reasonably well-educated people, but the icing on the cake was the Jamaican accent. Apparently market research of Americans showed that they found the Jamaican accent happy and cheerful. Fair play.

Nottingham so I sound like Sue Pollard, however my Mum was from Yorkshire so some of it must have rubbed off on me - it made my day when a Southerner at work said I was blunt and northern :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Can't be as bad as New Zealand. Place is so poor they can only afford one vowel. All are pronounced 'i' as in 'if'.
Even bland can be a type of character

Hmm. Maybe combination vowels get treated differently, so house becomes haarss. But otherwise it holds up for 'I'll go to our house' (as in, 'well, I am surprised!') which becomes 'I'll guttr aaar-raarss'.

(I'm from Ayupmiduck land too).

Depends who I'm talking too and it what context.
From Leicester and been in Worcestershire for the past 15 years, I tend to get really country bumpkin' when talking to my FiL, only the 3rd or 4th word out of my mouth are actual real words
