Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou

Post by Felix »

Am i the only one who thought that was rigged? Watch Ngannou go down when the highlights come out. His right hand looked like his went down to save his fall and his legs, right leg more never looked like a natural fall of someone who got sparkled.

I thought AJ looked very sharp and it was an impressive fight from him. Only thing I would say, is when you've knocked some one down, get straight at them when they clear the count, not fanny around. That said I've not seen anyone knocked out like that for a while and i was worried for Ngannou as he took a long time, too long, to come round.

These are words I never thought i'd say, but if Gypo fights AJ like he fought Ngannou, he'll lose and quickly too. AJ humiliated Gypo with the way he defeated Ngannou compared to him and he knew it! He should stay retired and go out with a good record, but boxers never do that do they...

Uh-huh
I think after AJ put him on his arse in R1, Ngannou realised it was only a matter of time before before it was lights out.
Look at the right leg when he finally goes down. That's not a natural way to bend unless the brain has switched off. The right glove goes down to the canvas but he goes left, so doesn't do anything but give people who bet on Ngannou something to moan about!

Well assuming he beats Usyk, why is by no means a forgone conclusion, I still thinks he beats AJ easily. The Ngannou fight was a bit like the time he fought John McDermott, bugger all preparation because they thought the opponent was a joke and it showed.

Buy Usyk showed the world how to handily beat AJ. Fury has all of that boxing ability, and is much much bigger.

If Fury loses to Usyk, then he retires. Then AJ will have to fight Wilder, Zhang an co, just to see who's the best of the rest, he won't go near Usyk again with a bargepole.

Gypo boy looking like his taking things very seriously after the Ngannou debacle. He must have dropped a good 2 or more stone!

I'd like to think so, ballooning in weight between fights is a career shortener. He needs to be 100% against Usyk.

Potter wrote: Sun Mar 10, 2024 4:26 am Mates back home told me they saw TF out and about and his head just wasn't there, I don't think he was even mentally in the same room as Ngannou that night, apparently his camp was a mess too.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fury pulls out with another injury and never fights again, but if he's back on top of his game then I'd still back him against any current heavyweight, the only bloke that can beat Fury, is Fury.

It would be a massive shame if he gets in the ring and his head isn't right, because he should win and if he doesn't then it's not been the fight people are paying to watch.
Fury is suffering the same woes as his namesake in the late 80s, lack of a proper camp and too many hangers on. He needs to get that utter moron of a father as far away from the camp as possible and the rest of the muppets as well.

Basically he needs to decide to be a professional boxer or a professional gypsy.

If his heads away, he needs to hang it up and not have big guys smacking the head off him for the rest of his career.

Only person I can see beating him is Usyk on a boring decision. Of the rest of the current division, none of them have a hope.

Tyson Ngannou can be completely ignored, Tyson when he is on top form will completely outbox Usyk and he’d box the head of AJ all day everyday.

But you can't ignore it as we went in badly prepared and got sat on his arse by a debutant. Like @Potter said, the person that beats Tyson is Tyson. if he turns up like he did against Ngannou against a boxer, he gets easily beaten.

AJ was in a no win situation, He was expected to win.

Yes you can when he’s preparing himself properly for Usyk and is in way better shape than he was for Ngannou. There is no way he turns up like he did for that fight.
