Post by weeksy »

Well it's getting slightly warmer and less horrific out there.. not much, but a bit...

Fri. WFH and chill mostly... prep race MTB but that's only 30 mins. Maybe some Golf with the boy later
Sat. MTB ride with @crust and no doubt some cake/beer. Take-away with MRs Weeksy
Sun. Mothers day.. maybe she'd like to watch Liverpool vs Man City .. Mmmmmm

Today I'll be going to the Prado to look at Art, and a bit later I'll be feasting on foreign food.
Tomorrow and most of the rest of the week will be similar.

Nice... You should hook up with Erizo who used to frequent these parts.. he likes a bit of art and builds custom motorbikes not far outside of the city.

Getting back to what we laughingly call 'normal' having had painters here all week, dodging the rain and repainting the cabin. Sanded and primed, topcoat today, final trim and tweaks tomorrow.

Local supermarket stock of biscuits hugely depleted. Kettle demanding increased wage for all the extra work.
The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

Sat, gardening and then 12hr night shift
Sun, recovering from night shift.

Same as usual! Getting extra coffee this morning (days I don’t drink coffee are followed by mornings with massive headaches!!!) then working

Driving tomorrow and Sunday

Here’s hoping that I get an early departure from resort and that there aren’t millions driving to resort for the return 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Today - lying in bed in the spare room, necking Beechams, wishing this lurgy would hurry up and do one.

Supposed to be getting my hair cut tonight but that's unlikely.

Might get out on the bike if I get better, otherwise I'll just be lying here rotting 😭

Today - MotoGP from Qatar! Might do a spot of clearing up the garden in between sessions.
Saturday - MotoGP from Qatar! Might do a bit more clearing up in the garden in between rain showers. Or not...
Sunday - MotoGP from Qatar! Will probably either have got bored with gardening or pulled a muscle or 3...

Last shift today then 3 days off, as it’s Mothers Day the F’s daughter is home for the weekend so I’ve got 3 days to myself, which is rare.
Planning to do all the stuff I’ve put off on Saturday, then off on the bike on Sunday, stay over and come home Monday. Problem is I’m not sure which direction to head in yet!!
Enjoy whatever you’re up to

Weights workout tonight as I continue to try to get back to some sort of fitness level. I'm as weak as an American beer at the moment.

Saturday, gym session in the morning then walk the hound. General fannying about around the house and then a charideee quiz night.

Sunday. Glorious nothing.

I've just got back from the gym and am tucking into my cornflakes- as soon as I'm done I'll be out in the garage performing some further minor cosmetic works on the Bandit, before giving it a little checkover / chucking some Esso Super in it and loading it into the van ready for my ACU licence CTC day at Castle Combe tomorrow.
This afternoon I'll hopefully be putting the forks on the orange bike back together, that's assuming DPD do what they're threatening to do and deliver my new fork bushes 🤞

Tomorrow, well, it'll be up early for the drive to Castle Combe, and once the day is done, unload the van, and load the orange bike and kit into it as have another day on the lanes of Southern England on it with the Jolly boys on Sunday, assuming of course I manage to get it all back together today

( And as I'm of course as I'm a good son and think ahead, knowing what I had planned for this weekend I took a trip over to my old Mum with flowers and a card on Tuesday so she had an early Mother's day from me :1 )

Hopefully get some panelling done tomorrow so we can then finish painting the lounge. The decorating has been put on hold due to birthdays and other family stuff but i'm keen to get it finished now.

Sunday, everyone over for Mothers Day.

After having owned guitars for 20 something years, playing them with other people and all sorts I'm doing something I've never done before today.

Going for a guitar lesson

Decided to try and do it "properly".

39 years old? Me? Never!

To do what with?
Martian (of this parish) is interested in it. I'm going along to help kick tyres and sniff paintwork.
they're (a) Pretty (b) two Stroke and (c) going north in price, so I can understand it.
