Re: What have you done today thread?
Actually found my motorcycle in my garage!
Pulled it out, fired up first time. Removed the shit pads the dealer had fitted (GoldFren FFS!) and replaced with some nice EBC HH, pulled some new brake fluid through whilst I was there.

I'm all confused today. Yesterday I went to the RockStore & the Sagebrush (my usual bar), I normally do this on a Sunday, so after I got home yesterday afternoon I kept thinking it was Sunday. Woke up this morning thinking it's Monday.

I had one of those days that unexpectedly turned out really nice. Nowt special, just went over to Leigh-on-Sea to meet up with my Sister for a dog walk. Did some fruit & veg shopping at this little place she uses and then watched the dogs chase the squirrels round the library gardens and ended up in a bar that lets dogs in and had a few drinks.

A bloke in my control room had his alarm changed by his grandkids. So early shift, alarm goes off, he gets up, sorts himself out and gets in the car to head in, when he realises it’s only 0315, he normally leaves 2 hours later!!ZRX61 wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 4:16 pm I'm all confused today. Re: What have you done today thread?
I serviced my bike. Oil and filter changed etc, including check valve clearances. The bike is 14 years old and has done 16k miles and there's no record of the valve clearances ever being checked. They should be done every 2 years or 20k but they've been checked now.

You can see why they don't often get done

All 12 within spec. The oil was very clean too but it ought to be because I've only done 600 miles since the last oil change a year ago
I've had 6 bikes in the last 10 years. With different bikes needing different oils I've collected a number of partly used containers of different weight oils

The Motul 10w60 is almost full, I've no idea which bike it was for. The two containers at the back are for the car and the campervan.

Motul 10w60 is the oil of choice for a KTM Duke 690 (and quite possibly other KTMs). KTM recommend Motorex, but Motul is betterer.Druid wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 8:28 pm The Motul 10w60 is almost full, I've no idea which bike it was for. There is no cloud, just somebody else's computer.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Dropped the car off for a main dealer service (the last one its going to get before I do it myself).
I'm hoping they pick up loads of stuff that needs fixing, cos it's still got a month of manufacturers warranty left

My 0.02p's worth. Last night I did a very comfortable and enjoyable 75 mile round trip in my Velar. It didn't breakdown. Phew!

What was the issue ?Potter wrote: Wed Mar 06, 2024 7:44 amGot the bill for my car, £1,600!
Although it’s the only money it’s cost me in seven years and 130,000km(ish) apart from normal servicing.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Took a birthday cake (a bought mini cake!) and firework candle along with a blue cheese n steak pasty to the coffee shop this morning for a mate's birthday. His wife is away on a training course, and whilst he will be going out partying later, I figured it would be nice to have someone make a bit of a fuss for him before work!!
Was aces - he didn't expect the cake, the candle or the pasty!
I then fixed some ski trousers and chilled!! LOL
Heading out in a bit to have a beer with the birthday boy and a load of seasonaires

Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Took a day off to do a few things without the wife being here to redirect me! Got loads of little things done but the one I really wanted done was to properly fit the double fin unit in my camper. It’s all in with AirPlay working and I’m so pleased with it for under £90 with the fitting kit! Sadly the reverse camera doesn’t work but I’ll look into that later or just use the other screen it used to use.
Ta da!

Went to take the bike out of the garage for the first time since last year & the battery was properly goosed - so, today I bought a battery & took a car instead.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Went to a bike show today! Some friends go most years and asked me to go along today - opening day of the Lyon Expo du 2 Roues.
I haven't been to a bike show in YEARS.
We walked just over 8kms around the show
That along with getting on and off a lot of bikes, and riding one for 40 mins, I'm aching and very tired!! LOL
The bike I want fits - need to ride one to confirm for sure, but I reckon it would be fine!
The bike I booked to ride i managed to change for something bigger but that I expected to hate - loved it!! LOL So that's neck n neck with the one I went wanting until I've ridden the first one!!
I went with three guys much more into adventure style bikes, so it was interesting
Gotta go to bed now, will put up more tomorrow
(There are a lot of very shit photos of some very lovely bikes
)

I've been informed by roomie that *we* are going to start eating the Mediterranean diet, which lead to a $300 blow out at the supermarket.

It's a curious place, some bits are really plush, other bits less so. There's only four wine glasses and four tall glasses, no others for exampleKungFooBob wrote: Thu Mar 07, 2024 4:55 pmLike an episode of four in a bed!cheb wrote: Thu Mar 07, 2024 4:30 pm Written today's date in the dust on top of the wardrobe in the holiday let I'm staying in.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I woke up just before 3 am; something wasn't right. I laid there trying to understand what was wrong and couldn't put my finger on it. Then I did, I touched my left ear and there's some crusty shit there and some dampness.
I thought I'd better have a look at it so went to the bathroom to find my left ear is covered in blood and it had clearly come from inside my ear. However, there was no pain, no problems with balance so probably not too serious. I'm on warfarin so it was probably nothing major, I just bleed a lot when I do bleed. I cleaned it up and went back to bed. By the time I got up, just before 8 it had bled again. My hearing was muffled but still no pain or loss of balance. There appears to be a small cut just inside the ear canal.
I had a cup of tea with a kitchen roll tampon sticking out of my ear and it seems to have stopped now at 10:30 ish but wtf? How does my ear just start bleeding in the middle of the night?
The bedding is in the washing machine and at the moment all appears to be good . . .
