I can't think of anything that I'd want on my skin for the rest of my life.

I know a few people with Yamaha tuning fork logo tattoos and a couple with YPVS tattooed on them, which was okayish in 1987, but looks feckin stupid now.

Was close to getting one 25 years ago of the first wife's name, but wised up in time.

It used to be unusual to have a tattoo, but now it's unusual not to have one.

Never wanted, or needed, the “look at me “ of it all. Just can’t see then point of them other than that? Forearm anchors with cited beloved names to Polynesian tribal style tats are beyond embarrassing now Shirley! But the no one thought flares would make a comeback, so stick with your indelible fashion statements, soon, you’ll be a fashion icon agin! :D

Yes.

I have three tiny dots, one below my navel and one on each hip. I know they're there but I can't see them. They were used to line up the radiotherapy machine to treat my prostate cancer. Other than that, no. I agree with Tiepin: "Never wanted, or needed, the “look at me “ of it all".

Have flares made a comeback? :?:

My parents and my wife all have em now, all done in the last 10 or so years. My rents didn't get theirs until post 60. Attitudes have definitely changed.

I've toyed with the idea, but honestly I can't think of any picture I like enough that I want it drawn on me forever. I know many people have them to commemorate things, or reasons of that nature, but that's honestly never struck me as "a thing". I commemorate in my head.

Can't deny the artistry though. One of the people who did some of Mrs Ds also does paintings, which strikes me as preferable.

Anyone remember the young woman on Visordown that was having some major angel wings done? That would cost a few bob now. (I invited her over from the Motley Fool investment forum as she was a bike rider but she didn't stay around long enough to demo the completed job. The work in progress was quite impressive though.).

As I said before, my daughter is a tattoo artist.
All my tattoos have been done by her, I proudly have the first tattoo she ever did on human skin, she regularly does some work on me to try new techniques, we have a session once a month just as our time, music on and have a good chat and laugh.
I don’t care what she does on me, I’m proud to have her work and the time we spend together while she is doing it is worth the discomfort

None.

I have considered getting a music related one but never got around to doing so. Tribal tattoo's and other silly art just makes me laugh unless of course you are from a tribal family.

I think the ultimate fail is people who get their partners name tattoo'ed on them, then cross it out and get the next partners name underneath again, it's almost like saying 'look at me, i fucking got this stupid tattoo then got another one just as stupid again because i am such a cunt i can't keep a partner for more than 5 weeks' kind of thing!

I've got a 'negative' tribal on my right shoulder about 20 yrs ago. It was my intention to add to it, but I've never bothered, so it looks a bit shit now tbh. If i had the time and money, I'd find someone good and get something to cover it, something big and colourful.

I follow some tattoo artists on instagram and the work out there is stunning, but I couldn't afford it I don't think.

But I wouldn't know what exactly I'd get. So it will probably stay as is.

If I wear a suit to wor (I'm wearing one now in fact), you'd have no idea, there are people I've known for a few years who probably have no idea that I have any tattoos.

They're all personal to me and I've never really wondered what anyone else thinks of them.

I'm not keen on very visible tattoos, especially neck, hands or face, I always think it's a bit too attention seeking.
Similar - right full arm, left top arm and chest but all can be cover by a long sleeve shirt for work. I worked with people for years before they ever noticed I had a single splash of ink.

I love things like this (don't think this is the best example!!) -

And if I could find one that I liked that worked as a shoulder piece, I'd be very tempted. But they are all too heavily lined/coloured for me to actually want one!

My mate has that kind of Ohlins tat.

I could never have it...it's backwards! You'd either fit the shock between your ankle and your arse, or if you did have it in your ankle like that, it'd have to act in tension. They never show the linkage which would make that work. Or it'd have to be on the front, on your shin.

That's why I don't have one ;)

I have a few* but never got the one I really wanted, I wanted similar to the Ohlins one, but with bike parts representing the tendons and muscles etc. My mate took my idea and got a great job done on his shoulder. However, he's put on a fuck tonne of weight since then so it's probably pretty warped now!

*
Tribal band right bicep (18th birthday present from my brother)
Tribal pattern across my shoulders (definatley my favourite)
Streetfighters cartoon/ logo on my left shoulder (20+ years old, now so smudged that people struggle to even see what it is)
Blacked out flames on my right leg (Started out with a great idea of checked flames. Not executed very well so eventually I had the whole lot filled in black)

Well, if we want pics of said chav decorations - my arm when WIP many years back.
Guy that did majority of mine was actually a trained architect who had a flair for fine art drawings and translated that to ink.

I think she had a user name to do with tattoos, something 'angel' maybe. I wasn't aware that Sunny had wings too. :D
