You probably do, you just don't know it's her :D. I was the same with Ed Sheeran for a long time.
Only if they play it at you in supermarkets or lifts....Ditto Ed Sheeran. :D

Oh - never been in a helicopter! Which really surprises a lot of people
From an old Lightning Pilot “Never fly in a helicopter, even the manufacturers have no faith in their product, they equip them with wheels, floats, skids etc, anything to give them a fighting chance on the way down!”

Also from the same guy “flying a helicopter, wiggle all the controls vigorously until you reach a sensible height, once there hold the controls in one position, see what the helicopter does and if you want it to do it again remember the position”.
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."

I have heard something like that before! I'd still love a go in one!! The pilots out here are incredible - although i'd rather not need one of the emergency flights from the piste!!

I have flown in several large helicopters. Think of a very elderly bus that vibrates like hell, makes a deafening noise, and stinks of paraffin. I have also flown In a small one, and that was cool.
Chose a small one.

One definition of a helicopter is: "a collection of parts flying in close proximity"

Company I worked with had one and we were able to use it as an alternative to cars for longer trips.

Helicopters are fine, though. The problem was that pilots seemed to think they should have flown in Vietnam.

I've flown in a helicopter, a Bell Jetranger if anyone is interested, it wasn't all that much of an experience, flying in a glider is a lot more memorable.

As for things I haven't done, there's loads of them, but whether they make people go "eh" is another matter, but I suppose the main one would be that I didn't live in a house until I was 7.

My one trip in a small one was over the Grand Canyon in the USA. The pilot may well have been ex-Vietnam.

Still cool.

That's from that after-dinner speaker from the 70s/80s.... The air traffic controller. Very funny guy. I used to have a copy of the record, no idea where i lost it.

I've never toured as an Englebert Humperdink tribute act, which inexplicably surprises many, or maybe it doesn't? :wtf:

Never eaten a Kumquat until four days ago.
Never fallen off a bike because I couldn't unclip in time. (It isn't on Youtube so it didn't happen. :D )

From 1965 to 1974 my family lived in a caravan on a site about a mile from the nearest village, it had no bathroom (there was a wash block) and was small by modern standards, I can remember the road from the village being tarmaced in about 1971. We moved to a council house in the summer of 1974.

We had a few sites like that around when I was a child. In that case it was part of the need to boost housing capacity post-war, as council house building ramped up, but a lot of the sites and prefabs (there were families living in Nissen huts too) were there long after their planned 'design life'. The prefabs were supposed to be for about 10 years iirc but were still occupied and maintained as council housing for about 30 years - (until asbestos became an identified hazard). The caravan parks became fixed 'mobile' homes. I know of one that's still there. For a while it was where they put 'problems' but it's quite chi-chi and private now. (A bit like Box Hill for those that know it...there's 500 of them up there and they aren't cheap).
