If the TMO doesn't make calls like that, then maybe it's time to do away with them?

Exasperated head coach Gregor Townsend added: "We were celebrating in the coaches' box. We could hear the TMO's conversation with the referee, saying 'the ball was on the foot, then the ball was down' and then he changes his mind and says 'stick with the on-field decision'. I don't know what you can say."

Re: Six Nations time again
Agreed Scotland deserved that try it feels bad as the video showed it as down anf was played over and over.
At least the England win over the Welsh was a fair game.
I just hope we don't get more crappy decisions like this even when there is good video evidence....

Couple of lads from Exeter sat next to us on the train back from Edinburgh. One of them the Rugby weekend was his 40th birthday gift from the other but they were more up for the piss up than the Rugby. Just as well

Re: Six Nations time again
I think this weekend has really made me think I need a change of job
Well, only for six nations fixtures! Damn I SO wanted to see the Scotland match and should have been back for it but the planning had to change by midday, so I didn’t get back till very late
But I was so very happy to see a Scottish win!!! I figured Ireland would win but great to see the result
But, Italy? Wow, just WOW!!! And apparently it was extra close due to a rushed penalty (and the almost obligatory ‘we was robbed’ try!!)
I’ve been waiting for Italy to get their act together as have chatted with mates that were saying that things were changing. But, holding France to a draw is AWESOME!!! (Even if France apparently sent out the z team for thé second half!!)
I can’t see them beating Scotland (not sure I’d want them to!) but there’s a good chance they might beat Wales
I have put in a request to finish early on the 16th for the rugby (especially cos my rugby mate will be here that weekend!!) but I’m not expecting it to actually happen
But so far, it’s not a bad 6 Nations

Re: Six Nations time again
I really have lost interest in the 6 Nations. England are stuck in a rut, and the pool they keep choosing the team from is getting older every year. I think I may switch my support to Italy.

Italy is 100% worth supporting I think!! They are going to get better and better And I do so flipping hope they beat Wales and don't end up bottom of the table again!!Cousin Jack wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 2:41 pm I really have lost interest in the 6 Nations. They are getting better, they play open and exiting rugby, and they don't keep moaning to the ref.Noggin wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 2:52 pmItaly is 100% worth supporting I think!! Re: Six Nations time again
That's basically why I've been a fan for a while. Ok, they didn't play brilliantly before but they tried to play good rugby. Now they are pretty good and still playing 'proper' rugby - and like you say, they don't keep whinging, they just play!!Cousin Jack wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 3:06 pmThey are getting better, they play open and exiting rugby, and they don't keep moaning to the ref.Noggin wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 2:52 pmItaly is 100% worth supporting I think!! Didn't think I'd ever say it as a Southerner, but give me a good League game any day!Cousin Jack wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 2:41 pm I really have lost interest in the 6 Nations. When my lad played League as well as Union, it was always a far more fun watch - faster pace and not bogged down with so many rules

Re: Six Nations time again
I agree. RL has a place for big men, but they had better be fast and good ball players too. RU seem to want tanks, not rugby players.v8-powered wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 4:24 pmDidn't think I'd ever say it as a Southerner, but give me a good League game any day!Cousin Jack wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 2:41 pm I really have lost interest in the 6 Nations. When my lad was playing regular RL his fitness was at its peak. Don't get me wrong, he's currently playing tight head prop for his university RU team and his fitness is better than mine even has been but he's nowhere near his peak.

Re: Six Nations time again
I was sooooo happy to see the Italy score (was in the office all day so could only keep an eye on the app to see the scores!!).
Somewhat less happy about the second match
But - if all goes well tomorrow I could get to watch that match!! Things rarely go to plan, but here's crossing fingers!! Weird to see those two at the bottom of the table tho!! So it'll be a more interesting match I reckon!!

Re: Six Nations time again
I need to find out what happens if Ireland and England both win next weekend - is the winner based on points difference or just points?
REALLY want Italy to beat Wales tho
