Given the choice I use Android Auto, which give Google Maps. My CHR has the Toyota jobbie built in, but the interface isn't as good as AA.

My car displays the maps in the instrument cluster between the Speedo and rev counter so it's nice and easy to use, but...

The traffic info lags quite a bit behind Google and they never agree on a route.

I generally use the car one, but if I see a jam or a road closed sign I fire up the phone.

Google Maps and/or Waze, on the phone, connected to the MMI using Android Auto.

I've bought a TomTom Rider for the bike, but haven't tried it in anger yet...

Phone apps are good for A to B but lacking in the POI's what i use when in the camperbus. It mainly for any camp sites what i also have a backup app for but that means using data what can be expensive when in euroland. Probably if i needed stuff like live traffic Waze on an old tablet would be the winner but again its data usage.

Car native system, which is actually google maps under the hood anyway!

Means it works with the voice activation and the HUD nicely. Plus my phone battery doesn't get a spanking.

Waze on my Androidy phone.
It's simple, does speed camera and hazard alerts, tells me when I'm speeding and most importantly speaks to me in C3P0 or Schwarzenegger voices which annoys the feck out of everyone else in the car.

Still use googlemaps on my phone. This generally seems to connect to the in-car system through apple play in the vehicules we drive. Not always ideal as I can't reach the screen on the in car system very well, so generally have to go back to the phone for jams and updates - but as it's on the left side of the wheel, I can actually reach it :D :D

Have tried to get Waze sorted but it doesn't seem to like me

Native system in one, Tom-tom or Google via Android Auto in the other (also have a Garmin device that used to get used in cars without the above).

Edit: Oh yeah, used rebranded Garmin devices on bikes.

Car - google maps - the BMW one is okay, but I refuse to pay 70 quid p.a for live traffic , or 150 quid for map updates
Bike - Beeline and their app

Really need a CarPlay/AA option which is a combination of phone and in-car system, so isn't really an option in the poll.

I normally use Google Maps on CarPlay. Sometimes Waze cos I like that it tells you where police are, plus it gives a live GPS speed. My missus swears that Waze isn't as good as Google for route redirecting, but that seems odd as it's owned by Google. Dunno.

I do sometimes also use Apple Maps, which is probably prettiest. I'm not that loyal to any of them really.

Quite a long time ago my son asked me which satnav he should buy. He was tempted by the TomTom iirc.

I told him that I thought the Philips Navigator would be better and cheaper. He hadn't heard of it so went looking. If I also remember correctly he called me a rather rude name when he found out it wasn't very high tech.

I've never used a satnav.

BMW MINI, bloody awful system to use and has taken me down some terrible roads and lanes. More than often I'll switch to Google maps on my phone.

It has Apple car play but I'm anti anything Apple 🍎

Does anyone buy bespoke SatNav hardware like TomToms these days? The mobile device Apps have improved so rapidly I'd have though the market share for those would've dropped like a stone. And data restrictions aren't really an issue any more. What do they offer that mobile device Apps don't?

We have a Garmin in the car, but it's only a backup. We've got unlimited mobile data in Europe so just use Google maps.

And easy to link phone to my headset on the bike and play music with route directions and updates as needed.
