Agreed.
I think I'd try and make an airbox out of something that would look nice, the gap just ruins it.

Those kinda bikes don't have an airbox though.
The Bonnie has the oil tank there on one side of course. In a rare peice of good design the fake oil tank on the other side is a toolbox. Dead useful.

It's hardly going to ruin a standard bike though is it, my old bike doesn't have an airbox, it has an oil tank, but if I had the bike in question I'd fabricate something to fill the gap, an airbox made out of something fancy might look good, or even a faux oil tank if that's your thing.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 9:28 amThose kinda bikes don't have an airbox though.

Gotta be honest, i think it looks alright with the gap

Don't like the VF, single sided swing arm doesn't suit it and nor does the seat. I bet it's a pig at low speed, all that weight even higher than standard.

Straight sale or trade in?
If a straight sale that's a very tight profit margin, for their sake, let's hope it doesn't go wrong in even a minor way

That was trade in, but was for an ex-demo '19 XSR900 @ £6999 which again i'm struggling to get near even now.Julian_Boolean wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 3:48 pm Straight sale or trade in?

That's about the closest but mine had 300 miles on it at purchase, even that one has 3500.
There's this at £7200 but again, still certain mine is better value

He traded it for an XSR900 so hopefully they'd made a chunk on that...Julian_Boolean wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 3:48 pm Straight sale or trade in?

How many bikes have you bought from them in the past and how much other work do you send their way?weeksy wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 3:50 pmThat was trade in, but was for an ex-demo '19 XSR900 @ £6999 which again i'm struggling to get near even now.Julian_Boolean wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 3:48 pm Straight sale or trade in?

Re: interesting bikes found randomly..
Was the XSR one of their demo bikes, if yes, then that's where they made the money, I don't know if it's still the case but dealers used to get demo bikes from Yamaha for a lot less than the bikes they sell as new.

Yeah it was, so the margins may have been in it. I know from chatting to KTM dealer they get very little in the way of discount on it.Julian_Boolean wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 4:53 pm Was the XSR one of their demo bikes, if yes, then that's where they made the money, I don't know if it's still the case but dealers used to get demo bikes from Yamaha for a lot less than the bikes they sell as new.
Either way I got a cheap purchase and a great trade in so I'm happy.
