We did a couple of summer events from one of the the other versions of the forum, where we went camping, but we did it at a pub once where you could camp but rooms were also available. That was a laugh and worked for most people. πŸ‘

I loathe karaoke, but sitting around a fire with booze/BBQ = 😎
That would have been Lumb Farm in Derbyshire …… quite a few turned up over the 3 or 4 years we went there and I borrowed a wigwam for the first time I went as I didn’t have a tent

I wouldn't really call Wiltshire 'central'...

A - plenty but not in walking distance
B - Yes. we could probably get our own field...

Hotel nearby is a must. I don't do camping. However Wiltshire would be good for me.

That's fine with me, it's within my 3 hours from Ipswich travel distance.

It's not going to be in Wiltshire. If we make this happen it'll be in the middleish of the country... We've had it at Pembrey for many years now and it's a massive hike for some. The plan this year if not doing the trackday, like i say would be to try and get people who ordinarily don't attend the events for whatever reason, some of that is not liking trackdays, some is not wanting to drive to west wales. I get that, i understand that.

So it'd be designed to be a little more 'inclusive' so people like Potter it's a couple of hours, Fromage it's maybe 2.5, Pietin it's 2 ish.... etc etc..

If we do this and people don't make it and i arrange things, then so be it.. I can live with people not coming, but i'll do my best to include as many as possible.

Currently before i start giving this too much thought i'm waiting on a few race dates etc then we'll get thinking on the where/when.

Somewhere like Buxton, they've got a big arse Premier Inn and plenty of camping locations for those who don't wanna do tents.

It has multiple Indian Restaurants and plenty of pubs/bars too....

I know Buxton looks middle-ish, but it is 300 miles/5 hours from this part of England.

And 7 hours from Scotland too.

I'm not sure what compromise would be fair?

Difficult as most probably don't want to travel more than 3 hours in the saddle - unfortunately our fair Isle is too long!

FWIW Glasgow is about halfway in traveling time if I'm traveling to Hampshire, my usual run south.

Skye would be good for me, or maybe Fort William at a push.
