2024 Forum extravaganza ?
Morning you crazy lot.
I was looking over at Alans/Phils website today and found some of their dates for 2024 however, as will potentially not come as a massive shock to us... I'm struggling to see a viable date.
They've got 6/7 July, but that's booked for us for a DH race
They've got 3/4 Aug but again that's a race and Mrs Weeksy is in Croatia.
31st Aug, yup, you guessed it... racing...
The only date i can see at the moment is June 8/9.
With Silverstone closing their trackday doors for 2024 we're already sitting in debates as to whether it's worth keeping the ZX6 anyway. I don't know if it'll see the light of day this year... Add this into the discussion with date issues and it's getting less and less likely the ZX6 will come out and may end up being sold (£4000 for anyone looking lol)
But if you lot fancy June 8/9 that may give it a stay of execution.

Yeah, it doesn't have to be a trackday, maybe a Purple Palace somewhere nice and a few beers?

8/9 would be techincally both... it'd be a trackday with lots of beer and bollox. At Pembrey as usual.mangocrazy wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2024 9:56 am Is June 8/9 a track-day meet up or just a meet up, get pissed and talk shite extravaganza...?

Re: 2024 Forum extravaganza ?
If people were happy and we could agree on location/etc then removing the trackday side of things is perfectly OK for me. As you know, i won't be riding even if it was at a track. But we'd be happy to meet up for beer/hotel/food/banter.
However the trackday side of things really does bring a certain dynamic and fun aspect to it all

Probably not doing any track days this year, including Pembrey. Will see what you all end up planning.

I quite like the idea of a summer meet up at some Premier inn or whatever, arrive Friday evening, ride out Saturday, 2nd night and home Sunday.
Camping can be a pain and trackdays aren't for everyone.

I’m in for the trackday weekend in June …… with the best will in the world I’m not doing a 750 mile round trip and the cost of 2 nights in a hotel for a few pints

If it was just for a beer I'm sure a more convenient location for most people could be selected?

Without doubt yes. It wouldn't be in the frozen wastelands of Wales that's for sure. I'd be thinking more closer to Derbyshire way to open up to more and give some roads that would be appropriate for someone to arrange a rideout.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 8:13 am If it was just for a beer I'm sure a more convenient location for most people could be selected?

I don't do trackdays or camping, but I quite like the idea of a day out with beer and bollocks.

I suppose it could be done with one night stop over. Meet up somewhere, evenings beers n food, home next day.

Re: 2024 Forum extravaganza ?
Indeed it could. We'll do whatever people want and will turn up for
I know the usual culprits will attend either way but I'm thinking of say
@Sunny
@Rockburner
@Count Steer
@Taipan
@Le_Fromage_Grande
@MyLittleStudPony
@Potter
Just to pick a couple of names at random, you you turn up if it's just a beers, food, hotel (no keys thrown in the pot) type scenario?
Somewhere middlesish like Derby, Birmingham etc sort of way
It'd be good to get some new faces

I could go for that, as long as it's not one of the nights I wash my hair.weeksy wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 6:26 pmIndeed it could. We'll do whatever people want and will turn up for

Could be a plan. I might combine it with a visit to what's left of my family in that neck of the woods.
