He's right tho...

I tried to spot the under 40 in the video. I think I may have seen one among the wobbly bellies and wire wool tops.

He's not drinking the Motorcycle Live Kool-Aid, that's for sure. But he makes a good point, like it or not. I was thinking about going, but when I found out Piaggio (Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Gilera, Derbi) weren't exhibiting I was less enthused. Ultimately Covid had the final say.

Points he made that chimed with my views were:

1. Prices have gone up drastically in the past few years, often for nothing more than a different paint job
2. The show demographic was almost entirely 50s and over, virtually no young people
3. Prices for entry, parking, food and drink are a rip off.

1. So have wages, or at least mine have.
2. He went on the Press Day, I went on the Sunday, there were plenty of young people there.
3. The prices are clearly advertised before you go, if you can't afford it don't go.

It's only a motorcycle show, it really isn't important, it's a day out in winter with motorcycles.

And that's fine. Glad you enjoyed it.

It's half a day's worth of entertainment, so 23 quid for entry isn't overly expensive, although with the reduced exhibitors I am glad I didn't go this year.
If he'd stop moaning and paid for parking when he bought the tickets he could have saved 7 quid.
They always are at every event, simple rule of thumb, always eat and have a shit before you leave home, you'll never need to worry about going hungry or finding a clean shitter ever again.

I would probably have gone this year if I hadn't contracted Covid at precisely the wrong time. And I always go by train (avoiding parking hassle and expense) and have been known to take a packed lunch.

So not just an old bastard, but a tight old bastard to boot... :)
