Trackdays 24...
2023 was a poor year for me, just Pembrey, great fun was had tho. So I'd like to up my game a bit in 24. My flexi hours job will give me time off as and when.
I'd ideally like to try a different bike with comfort included but it ain't straight forward. The MT works well but just be nice to try summot else. I generally ride to circuit which sometimes requires an overnighter. I can borrow a mates trailer if needed when tat carrying becomes too much for 2 wheels.
So, what's your feelings for the coming year, any interest or not a lot.

Re: Trackdays 24...
Mrs Weeksy fancies several Silverstones as always. Other than that, she's quite hard to persuade to go somewhere else... Unless of course, there's a decent number of people going who will bring the banter, then it's easier to persuade her. I've not spoken to @Alan PBTD in a while to see what's happening next year, but i can't think of any reason i won't facilitate a day, assuming we can get a date that doesn't clash with the boys races of course. But if we can manage it, there WILL of course be the usual extravaganza (is it even one now with so few people.. hmmm).
Part of me wouldn't mind trying a bike on track again, but i have little deisre to buy/hire one and i've less desire to use the ZX6. Which means i'm pretty damn unlikely. I could borrow one, but as i'd have been off bikes for 2 years by then, i'm not sure that's the wisest move
I'd like to get @Welsh Muffin to Oulton as she's not ridden there and the fact we have our own van makes trips a lot simpler than hiring vans.

Think I'm happy to try anyway next year. We'll see if any interest builds as the dark winter comes upon us.

Re: Trackdays 24...
I just want to do 'a' trackday again!! LOL TBF, I want to do a lot, but being able to do one would be freaking awesome
I've been reminded that I have the use of an old zx6 to do a trackday, so if one is organised I will do everything I can to make it this time - been keen before, but with no bike in the uk, and a distinct lack of money, I couldn't do it.
Knowing there's a bike I can use might be the tipping point (if I sort the finances out to enable the drive over!! )

Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!!

Chatted with Alan and yes Pembrey will be a go. As long as we can fit it in between races so may mean it's an unusual time of year

I plan on the usual Pembrey weekend and might try and fit in a Snetterton day/half day with the eldest lad on his 636 to build his riding confidence.

Re: Trackdays 24...
Not brave enough to wrestle the Griso round a track but have booked myself and the boy in for a car session at Oulton Park driving and getting one to one instruction in one of their BMW M4's and a single seater.
Never driven or ridden on a track before so will be good to pop that cherry

Re: Trackdays 24...
I know they are good and iirc Tom was part of VD/TRC mob but not sure if its the boys "thing" as he was sceptical when i mentioned then just after he got his license 2 years ago as i knew they ran courses at my old airbase which is now an enterprise park and solar farm.
He is incredibly cautious and the main lad he rides with (friends since primary school) is likewise. I have ridden with them once and neither even remotely uses the bike to scratch its potential. He keeps mentioning track days so i thought a road bike only evening at Snett could be a good introduction for him just to explore the bike a little further without being divebombed by racers on slicks on pre meeting testing.

I'd almost retired from trackdays but portimao earlier this year was a blast so I've booked it again for this coming year. Since I've now got an old R1 I'll be having a pop at the Anglesey classic trackdays and I need to make up for missing Pembrey this year, sorry!

3rd to the 5th May. I'd aim to spend around 5 days riding down, arrive a couple of days before, hang around for a day after and a week to get back. Random routes, no motorways...

Oulton Park, Saturday 24th Feb, £109 with NL
It will be my first time there, as it's one of the few UK tracks I have never ridden-is a bit early in the year given the typical UK February weather, but I'm Premier Inn-in the night before and I'll be out there on the Bandit rain, shine, or snow treating it as both a learn the circuit and bike shakedown day,

I'll try and make this, if I've got fresh wheels. it's a bit early mind.
