Trading Standards have been pursuing the traders for punting out non-approved kit.

Last year at the Feb show in Docklands trading standards came and shut down a few stalls whilst the show was on.

"I'd like a stand please"

"Yes, sir, that will be Β£10k"

Easy as that. And, with staff costs, stock, T&S, shows how much they can make from it.

I reported it on my Elevenses webcast... had comments and feedback from Paul Varnsverry who was looking for fake CE markings.

Eep.

I was hoping for some named brand stuff (specifically Spidi). I bought a Rukka jacket from there some years back and got a brilliant deal.
Ho hum, online shopping sorted me out after all. :1

Airports are the same. Shit food at proper prices.

Recently at Dublin airport I was stung 50 quid for two coffees and 2 rounds of half assed toast and a sausage.

Heard a guy saying how someone ahead in the queue ordered food then, when told the price, said "Nah, keep it" and walked out.

Although tbh I do quite like some of the trade shows, at least you get a chance to see the products and get hands-on with them.
I have a personal issue with conferences, they're like leeches on the side of an industry, they get people to speak at them for free, dream up some awards, buy some cheap trophies and then dish them out as industry awards, we all have to play the game around it but I find it all very false.
I used to work for a company that put on conferences (amongst other media stuff), they're a really good earner for the organisers, the sales people selling places got paid well.

At that price, I would have sent it back and starved.

Ain't nobody forcing over priced food down your neck, and no one is going to starve to death if they miss out on a burger or baked spud for the day.

Having been to Motorcycle Live 2023 I can safely say most of the attendees could safely live on their fat reserves for quite some time.

The daft thing is,Mrs.Skub would put an item back on the shelf if she thinks it'll be 10p cheaper elsewhere, then she'll bite (ha) for the likes of airport crap. Wiminnz. :wtf:
