A new Assagai front tyre with EXO+ for the Evil, so I can move the existing DHF to the back (bizarrely it comes with DHF's front and rear).

And some Dry Chain lube so bye bye summer.

Another one of my pet peeves is miss-aligned handlebar / forks.

Have tried string, piece of ally section against a kerb - not 100% successful each time, generally ending up a slight amount out, which is even more annoying - I know 1st world problems and all that.

Then I saw this gizmo - ooh, a gadget that can solve my problem, love a gadget and one with a lazer - win :bblonde:

Came in a very nice tin -more :bblonde:

Clip it onto bars, turn the light off, lazer on - tadaa, bars slightly out. Quick adjust and boom, job done, spot on.

£39.99 - bargain, no more iffy bar alignment

A new EP-CW100 for the Evil, which is the frame mounted charging port and cable for charging the battery in the frame. It would seem that Shimano have used a really crumbly plastic and that couple with a few hamfisted attempts at plugging in the not very positive engagement connector has resulted in the ports plastic bits falling to bits. I’ve also had to order a new locking ring tool for the chain ring as to get to one of the motor mount bolts the chainring has to come off. I had bought a cheapo one (£17) but it doesn’t sit very well on the lock ring as the spiders arms lift it off the ring ever so slightly as the tools shoulder is rather thick. So I’ve ordered the proper Shimano one at £57!!! By cheap buy twice.

New back wheel for the Evil. Nobl TR38 laced via DT spokes to an Onyx classic hub with their “silent and zero lag drive” and also some Filmore valves for easier tubeless set.

6 bolt 203mm Shimano Ice tech rotor to fit to my Nobl TR36 rim/Vespa hub wheel so I can keep riding the Epocalypse. Also getting a price from the shop to fit a Nobl boost hub converter to my old TR33rim/Nobl hub non boost wheel and also get it redished at the same time so I can keep both bikes going whilst waiting on I9 to sort out the Ebike wheels after the spoke snapping issue.

Finally for the princely sum of £9.60 postage I'm going to be field testing an Absolute Black E-Bike "Super Steel" chainring which is allegedly 4 times harder than the OEM ring. It's a work of art and only weighs 119 grams including spider and bolts. Not sure what the OE weighs and Im too tired to swap it over today.

Fook just seen that the ring and spider total £275!!!

They’re for the “ Pella”, the Imperial Inquisitor has ATAC XC8’s so I can keep the same shoes and pedals no matter what I ride.

Took advantage of the CRC/Wiggle sell off for some upgraded handlebars for both my road bike and my Gravel bike... Carbon Easton flared bars reduced from £180 to £40 for the gravel bike and some Deda Superzero alloy bars for my road bike down from £130 to £22...

Crazy times!

Very nearly bought a 1/2 price Specialized Chisel hardtail over the weekend, but managed to remind myself that I have enough bikes already and not enough time or space for them all anyway!

Lucky boy @weeksy !!! I put an order in for 3 pairs, one for my GF's new bike, one to go on one of my bikes, one spare...

Got an email the following morning to say they'd all gone before they processed my order and they refunded me! 🤦🏻

I'm not bothered about my bikes, I'll be fine. My GF's new bike though... They go with it perfectly! And now all the scalpers are listing them for £60 a pair on ebay and facebook marketplace... 🤦🏻

Nah mate, I totally get it don't worry... I messaged a lad on facebook who'd bought an enormous amount of Nukeproof stuff for his "dream build" (why a bike needs 6 BB's, 4 handlebars, 3 sets of flat pedals, 2 sets of clipless pedals etc. I don't know), said I'd swap him a couple of other bits I bought cos they were cheap and chuck him a few quid for his troubles to swap for a set of the pedals, and he started getting shirty with me, saying how everyone was giving him grief for trying to make a few quid...

I explained to him that nobody was angry cos he was trying to make a few quid, people were angry cos he was bullshitting them and wasn't being honest about the origins of all the stuff he'd got!

He blocked me!

But sounds like he's been blocked from all the selling groups now too for his antics, so good luck trying to shift all that stuff for profit with no avenue to sell it...

Buying something at X and selling it at Y is a fundamental part of capitalism, which whether you agree with it or not, is the underlying principle of the society we live in... I had a bike shop for 6yrs, my customers were under no illusion that I was making a profit (most of the time) on the products I sold in there, but I was at least adding value to them by being there and offering my knowledge and services...

Anyway...

I'm mostly just gutted for my GF as those pedals would have matched her new bike so well and nothing else will! She's had a shit time of things lately, and is off a bike for 6 weeks currently (torn her calf muscle), so I'm having a concerted effort to fully bling her new bike up ready for her to ride in the new year. Seems I'll have to actually pay some good money for some of them in the end!
