Lock and chain recommendations - is Almax still the one to have?

This isn't for a bike, rather it's for a replacement generator at a vacant site. As such, work is paying, not me and it's needed pretty quickly - i.e. off the shelf/next day delivery which I'm sure rules out Almax. Original generator was stolen (whilst the dog unit was on site!) so am thinking of chaining the replacement one to a lamp post.

However, once it arrived the chain and lock are very good - and extremely heavy.

Thanks. I'd happily keep with Almax and if this was for one of my bikes I'd probably just waiting it out but my experience of their customer service (last year - buying a chain sleeve) was, as you say, woeful.

TBF, I doubt any chain on the market would be able to withstand a grinder.

Don't know whether they'll go around a lamppost, but two Hiplocks might do it (if available).

I've just pledged cash to the Hiplock dx1000 kickstarter. First time I've done kickstarter anything. The D1000 locks get great reviews and the DX model is motorcycle specific. It's not out until after April next year though for the first deliveries. Bloody expensive but hopefully puts the little shitbags off a bit. Also have an Almax chain so may well try and see if I can use both together. Have a disklock as well.

I guess none of them are totally secure, but it's just about slowing them down or suggesting they go somewhere else.

Liteloks and Pragmasis chains also seem to be highly rated.

No chain will hold off an angle grinder, even Alex at Almax will tell you that and even how long one his chains will last against one. Almax has never expanded into an efficient business and filling orders takes time, but they are still the market leader for chains I believe?

On Bennetts Social video, it took 3 for a full cut through, with 2 full cuts to be able to remove the lock from the wheel.

That must have been the one I watched, I couldn't search earlier as was busy.

A litelock saved Freddie Dobbs' Bonnie from being stolen last week too. You could see where they had attacked it with an angle grinder and it hadn't touched it beyond shredding the outer rubber.

Aren't the cylinder locks easy to pick? Or is that summat else?

I'm not convinced that wasn't chewed on by a hungry seagull rather than attached.
I'm not doubting the performance of the lock but that had only been tickled with a grinder not a proper attack, maybe the thief was using grinding discs instead of cut off wheels, or they were disturbed or their battery went flat
