We can all say that of course, but he feels a mistake 2/3 of the way in cost him a second, but I'll be every one of the fast lads made a mistake somewhere on their run.

From what I understand from people here, there is virtually always a little mistake on the sorts of routes you guys do. I still think it's blooming AWESOME!!!

I reckon it's great he's got Drew as a sparing partner, I'd imagine they bring the best out of each other.

Massively so yes. It's currently 6-5 to drew this year and the final race of the season is at Drew's home turf. Sadly next year they'll race apart as each Cat is a 2 year window, Drew leaves and goes up to juniors next year, my lad stays in youth.
They'll still coach and practice together but their runs will now be an hour or so apart instead of racing next in line. It's a shame for both, but we'll still all be in the paddock together all weekend.

Sent the forks and shock off for a service at TFTuned, as always, their service was superb, quick turn-around, great comms and they're back and ready for the weekends fun. Always impressed by their professionalism.

With the race season now being listed it's time to get on with getting some spares etc.

So today sees the arrival of 2x Magic Mary in 27.5 for the back when he's running mullet along with 1 x Argotal super soft and 1x Kryptotal super soft both in 29er. We've still got a Kryptotal new and boxed, so we're pretty good in terms of stock and should see him for most of 2024 hopefully.

I'd definitely be looking at that as a positive for Weeksy jnr. Drew will (should) be competing with bigger, stronger riders so will have to improve. Training then with Drew may well pull young weeksy with him and his riding may well improve quite a lot. It will also give him a good guide as to what's coming next year?

It's like saying that when doing sport you should always try and go against better people than yourself, even though you may get beat, you'll learn and improve a lot faster.

Absolutely. The hard part at times is finding people to fit that criteria and available to ride with. None of his mates are quick enough for that and he doesn't have enough 'outside' friends to always have that option possible. MTBing is quite cliquey and he struggles getting himself in with the guys who are quicker. Added to the fact that most will be riding in the north wales area a lot.... So quite a trip/drive. Not too bad if something is pre-arranged and organised, but that's trickier than you'd think.
We're both happy with things though and still enjoying it, so for now, it's working well.

Just looking back and laughing at this, just about this tame last year. This was on the way to a race. We were both gutted when it was cancelled
