Not very, it's hidden under plastic, everything seems to fit and line up, so I'm assuming it's dented and not bent

After the little shita tried to knick it , I've not done much
The Mort expired and it been under a cover, least night I stripped and rebuilt the forks(not a job I like)
A few other bits today and new MOT acquired
As my car is playing up it's back to commuting duties as of Friday

They all do that sir. On start up some of them liked to sit at 4k,anything less is a stall.
No they don’t!

I’ll idle mine at 2000 rpm, reducing choke from cold start to around 1000/1500rpm when warm.

The problem is defo carb related, which makes sense for a bike that’s been stood. All the carbs need a good, sonic clean. I bought a cleaner for this purpose but ended up sending them to a specialist in Cornwall. (He was brilliant. If you are UK i can pass on his details). Owned them all from the RX, ZX10, Cs & Ds. Still own two Ds. Never had an issue. These zeds are bullet proof.

yup, the side fairing has an allen fixing seated in a cup which will dent the frame if it goes down: it pushes it backwards into that part of the frame. Worth checking if buying 2nd hand, but it’s cosmetic and hidden and doesn’t affect anything so as zrx says, ignore it.

Mate has a '96 D4 here that has 136,000 miles on it. He changed the head gasket at 90,000. My '95 D3 only has a little over 18,000 on it. The ZX11 parts in my 122,684 mile ZRX11 have about 114,000 miles on them

Mot done, using for commuting doing.
4 into 1 exhaust purchased, thought I was being clever, the seller wouldn't post, no problem low offer get someone to collect it , pack it up and £7 with evri and bobs Ur uncle....... it's a welded system, so it's going to be a pain to post and if it's much over 1mtr20 then not cheap either.

Wheels .....now I know it's a old heavy lump(the bike) I've fitted a zrx12 front wheel and have a rear that I just need a sprocket carrier and cush drive to fit, but I keep seeing zx10r wheels and I've found a cheap zzr14 wheel.....
I'm trying to talk myself out if it but .... lighter wheels and no lathe to make spacers

I'm assuming it would be zzr14 rear wheel, caliper and hanger, rear disc and some hammers

From memory wasn’t the swap of choice ZX9R wheels?

I'm thinking so, it's supposed to be 9lbs lighter,the cushdrive, sprocket carrier too

I'm going to stick the zrx12 rear wheel on evilbay and get a zx8 one I think......I keep seeing a zzr1400 rear wheel that's not much, it would mean I'd have to get a zx10r one to match aswell though....

It appears when I rebuilt the forks for the MOT I'd incorrectly left the top of them flush with the top yoke, so for about a month I've been riding a chopper.
Yesterday I removed the bar risers(30mm) which helped with comfort as I was finding it a bit of a stretch to the bars.

Today I pushed the forks through the top yoke by about 30mm
It feels better, not huge amounts better but it now doesn't understeer round quickish corners, the riding position is better with it feeling a little more direct, I'm thinking of putting the std suspension dog bones back on to raise the rear end a little and see how that works

Slight update...
I managed to get a stainless Remus for £85 delivered, I was dreading getting the old one off as it's quite manky underneath.
It was fairly simple, the header nuts and studs looked pretty new, the main issue was the mounting bracket under the sump, lying on my back outside on paving slabs wasn't fun.

Fitting the Remus was ok, it came to me with the downpipes and mid section fitted together, so into the vice a bit of lube and I couldn't move them, so with the help of my son I attempted to fit it, no way was it going around the filter and the headers going into place.
Back to the vice and using a small screwdriver I loosened the slip joint, added lube and did a push me pull you with my son , we got it apart, loosely fitted and tighten it all up.

It's about 6-7kgs lighter than the std, it seems more than that when you are wrestling the old system off.

I've also wrapped the downpipes till past the radiator, they get very hot and judging by the state of the original rad it will be a zzr1200 upgrade over winter.

It's sooo much quieter, in fact it makes the engine sound like a bag of spanners, going to investigate that.

Also whilst the fairing was off I've fitted a led 'bulb' in place of the h4, update later as a t light currently.

I was going to sell the zrx1200 wheels and get some zx10r ones and make them fit, but I've not tried the rear zrx wheel yet, I'm going to get a sprocket carrier and give that a go first.

Off to work later on it , wish me luck

And the fucking thing broke down on the way home, I got about 10 out of the 12.5 miles home, turned into a unlit road, I was seeing how the new led light would cope , hit a bump and everything cut out instantly, no lights or engine and no street lights either, a bloke in a car stopped, we had a look but everything is hidden or bolted down, I spoke to a local house and dumped it in the driveway.
Going back in the morning with tools.
I'm assuming the main fuse went, not sure why yet
