That looks really good.
Have you Greenlaned it yet?
Those nautilus horns are a bugger to mount anywhere on a bike without a fairing.

I thibk the biggest surprise for me in all this is the fact an ER5 has drum rear brakes. The actual project just looks like an ER5 with bits stuck on....funnily enough.
Projects are always divisive.

Re: Scrambler hipster bollox
So it was bought for £600 and was used for a lockdown project that over ran a bit. Total cost is around £1400.
Now isn’t the time to sell but what do we reckon it’ll fetch ? I’m guessing £3k ish

Re: Scrambler hipster bollox
You mean bits took off surely ?. It’s had frame modded, seat made, exhaust made, footrest plates, frame and wheels powder coated, tank powder coated, engine painted and all new bearings pads and a service. I’m sure there’s loads more little bits but it was done on spare time at work.Mr. Dazzle wrote: Sat Oct 31, 2020 12:00 pm I thibk the biggest surprise for me in all this is the fact an ER5 has drum rear brakes. Trouble is, modern(ish) engines and frames just scream 'modern' to me, so whatever you do to it it will always appear like a modified modern bike trying to be something else.

It is liquid cooled, overhead cams etc. Not MotoGP no, but hardly classic either.inewham wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2020 7:52 pmIt's telling, what we consider modern. It's half a GPz900 engine so it's 36 years old.Mr. Dazzle wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2020 5:13 pm Trouble is, modern(ish) engines and frames just scream 'modern' to me, so whatever you do to it it will always appear like a modified modern bike trying to be something else.

My next door neighbour gave me a huge book 'The complete BMW every model since 1923'.Couchy wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2020 9:40 pm I guess if late 70’s early 80’s tech is modern then it’s modern not that I care lol
So, having owned a few and ridden many more, since 1981, I opened the book about half way through. Nope, had to go several more pages towards the front
