You think you're having a bad day?
You think you're having a bad day?
One year ago I had my first TMax stolen after less than two months of ownership. That was on my birthday.
A replacement was sorted after much arguing with the insurance company. Fast forward to the summer and it gets stolen but this time there's a tracker on it. I get it back the same morning.
Today I'm on a train heading to Bruges to celebrate my birthday and I get a message from the tracking company, yup you guessed the TMax has been stolen again. This followed by a message from a neighbour that three men I a transit lifted it and threatened him.
Police are now receiving the scooter while I try and enjoy my birthday in Bruges.
Seriously considering giving up on TMaxs and buying a BMW C650. Surely no one will want to nick one of those...

The perils of owning a scoot... they are all ultra-thievable.
At least it's being recovered...

A shit sandwich. Perhaps you ought to invest in a large dog with over developed territorial instincts.
Happy birthday,aside from all that.

Jail is no deterant for these scumbags. A loss of freedom for a few weeks.

Does it matter what you think of it? It's someone's pride and joy - even if it's 'only' transport, it's something that's had money and care spent on it.

I've lived in the US for 32 years & the UK for 31 years... During my time in the US I've known fewer than 10 people* have their bikes stolen... & that includes people on US forums like this, owners clubs & FB etc.
*I think the actual number is 6

£25 immobiliser bypasser off of eBay and they can ride it. Its frightening how easy it is to hotwire bikes.

I don't get this sentimentality. My pride and joy bike is no more important than next door's Mondeo.

Re: You think you're having a bad day?
But you'd probably be pretty pissed if someone said "oh the thieves did you a favour by knicking that bike (whichever bike it was)" ??Yorick wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 4:29 pmI don't get this sentimentality. My pride and joy bike is no more important than next door's Mondeo.
Even if it isn't a pride and joy, as I said, its a form of transport that someone chose and bought. No one is doing that person a favour by stealing it!!

Re: You think you're having a bad day?
It's not just the theft. That's bad enough given it was locked to a ground anchor with a god almighty expensive Almax chain, it was threatening my neighbour when he saw them nicking it that really rankles.
