How Old Are You - Really?
Not just in a physical relation but in mind and soul? What do you still want to do that you don't seem to be able to do anymore physically? What do you miss doing?
I always say i am living in the body of a 43 year old but mentally never really made it past 28, i don't know why i think the number 28, it just seems right someway in my mind! These days i think it might be creeping up to about 33!
I am still trying to work the DJ scene and be pretty mental and my 43 year old body defo reminds me some times that i very much am not 28 years old anymore, but i still seem to be able to keep up with the youth at times if the music is good enough...
I'd love to be able to be an amazing Cricketer again, i really do miss it and don't really go up to the club anymore which is a bit sad. Best days of my life was my Cricketing times, i used to play for 3 teams for a few years and had good times playing in the South West Premier League for over 20 years!, i would just fall apart now playing three 50 over league games a week along with training!

Re: How Old Are You - Really?
Retiring at 54 gave me chance to have a second childhood.
Still riding enduro bikes every week and still fast enough to mix with the mid-pack at trackdays.
I walk average of 6 miles a day and feel like a daft young kid still.
No health problems so having fun while I can

Re: How Old Are You - Really?
After 4 hours riding and chasing the teen on MTB today, I'm in my 70s
However, we were hitting trails, jumps, berms, acting like 15 year olds.

I was born 56 years ago, but I still want to do the same things as I did 40 years ago, ride my motorcycle and make love to a beautiful woman

60 but still a bit childish in many ways. Had to mature in recent years with elderly dependants, so not so carefree anymore...

Re: How Old Are You - Really?
I was very much old before my time until I was 32. Then I got my first bike and regressed quite a lot!!
So, whilst I'll be 54 in December, I'm pretty sure I'm still 32 mentally, at the most!!
The very big downside (despite what people keep saying on here) is that there is a massive disadvantage to feeling 20+ years younger than other people the same age - I find men my age are generally SOOOOOOOOOO OOOLLLDDDDDDDD FFS, when did 50 start to be ancient! So then the other downside is that guys 20 years younger than me are unlikely to want a partner so much older
TBF, due to injuries I've not tried to find out, but it is a bit off putting!! Especially when my biggest crush comments in a bad way about my age (physical side of it, he's a physio!) and also says things like "you're the same age as my dad". I'm FUCKING NOT the same age- his dad is 7 years older than me and from other comments he's one of those that got proper old instead of thinking young!!!

I'm 45.
No kids, so I've never really had to be 'responsible' and I spend most of my money on drugs and hookers, the rest I just waste.

My age still starts with a 3*
I worry about my hairline though.
*only a 39 year old would phrase it this way

Re: How Old Are You - Really?
Some days I feel like my 18 year old self, other days I feel all of my 54 years and then some.
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."

Early 50s, should I get a Superdry hoodie some skinny jeans and a thumb ring so I can pretend I'm just 49 instead?

Re: How Old Are You - Really?
Rushing towards mid 50s. Never felt my age til about 3 years ago when literally overnight I fell to pieces - never been to the quacks so many times, nor had so many scans and interventions. So basically more recently have made big efforts to arrest the rot.
I still behave like a child the rest of the time though.

Re: How Old Are You - Really?
Pretty much exactly this. 74 in December, and my knees remember every one of those years, but my brain refuses to accept the evidence. I went to see the 'Stop Making Sense' Talking Heads 40th anniversary concert movie a few days ago and felt like I was back in 'my' time.
There is no cloud, just somebody else's computer.

Re: How Old Are You - Really?
I’m 66 and have sore joints and various age-related physical nonsense. Who cares.
I know I feel different from the young me, but I can’t define it, because I can’t properly remember feelings that I don’t feel now. I used to see a bike, or an advert for a bike and I’d feel compelled to get it. Same went for old bikes, old cars, Cuban-heeled boots, Gene Vincent records... Nowadays, I occasionally get a flash of those urges, but it fades before I grasp it. I suppose some old gits don’t change so much and they’re the guys with collections of things.
Lust for the flesh doesn’t seem to fade the same though.

Re: How Old Are You - Really?
I'm 68 next February, but according to a shed load of measurements I have the fitness of a 20 year old.
A twenty year old with an enlarged prostate, knackered back and who can't read or drive without glasses, oh and kidney stones at least 3 times per year or more.
But I still cycle at least 80 miles per week, 7000 steps a day, average bpm of 52. So I am doing ok.....for the moment.
Does being a die hard Metallica fan count?
So twenty for me

Re: How Old Are You - Really?
I'm 68 and pretty lucky healthwise so far.
I still do the same things I did 40 years ago.
I don't need reading glasses.
I don't get up in the night for a piss.
I beat myself to shit falling off bikes in my youth, yet carry no physical reminders.
I quit drinking a few years ago because it was destroying me and those close to me. This had the added benefit of getting back to the weight I was in my early 30s.
It's all a lottery and life can change in an instant,so I'll enjoy it while I can.
