I could be tempted to buy a single cylindes aircooled Enfield & I've read that the Himalayan is a 2 valve long stroke engine, reminiscent of old Brit bikes.
I'm not so sure about buying a liquid cooled Enfield,I'd rather take a chance on a DRZ400

I needed a bit of distraction, so I did! I can only apologise...

The article above quotes a 220mm ground clearance, so around 8.6". The yardstick in the photo has red blobs at 10" spacing, so the seat height could be 28" or even as low as 27".

I'd say that's scientifically proven

Yellow and black is where the resemblance ends.

Hard to think of a bike more different to a Himalayan as a TDR...

If that's what old Brit bikes are like, you can keep them. The Himalayan revs up so slow, you can miss a whole phase at the traffic lights if you don't put in your request for revs as soon as it turns amber.

It's all relative though, my old Brit bikes are slower than revving than a modern bike but not slow slow.

I do really like the long stroke low revving nature of the engine, it's brilliant for the road IMO. Way way more midrange and 'eagerness' than a more modern ~600cc bike.

Yeah alright, vibrates like a nuclear powered sex aid too.

My Bullet is an air cooled long stroke four banger, with two valves... operated by pushrods.

I can beat anything to 15mph from the lights. I do have the kind of skills most often seen in MotoGP tho'

THe Bonnie has a close ratio box, it's essentially got 2nd-5th, so pulling off is not a sprightly affair.

7 to 21mph though, you ain't catching me :D

When it feels like the modern world is going too quick, everybody in a rush, no time to talk.....buy an Enfield and it all slows down just nice. 💤
