Let dog No.1 out for a wee at 0200, I had a wee at 0300 and then dog 4 arrived on the bed with a thump at 0440 after the stupid twit had scratched his ear raw and upset himself. I gave up at this point, cleaned his ear out, applied cream to it and then let him out for a wee and stood in a wee on the door mat that dog 1 had snuck out sometime after 0300. I then rode 21 miles on the cycle path to work in a head wind, rain, pissing rain and then more rain.

Spent the day sorting out a safety checklist for if we turn Croydon off whilst intermittently listening to the boss being his usual erratic self.

On the train home now looking forward to a cider after I put all my damp sweaty cycling gear in the washing machine.

"My dear Doctor, they're all true."

"Especially the lies."

Out on the bike until around lunch time, then jabbed up with all the latest tracking devices in the Covid/flu vaccine.

The afternoon was spent painting the first coat on outside walls, since it's meant to be dry and settles for a few days.

I mentioned to Mrs.Skub last night, that the weather was to be decent this week. "Oh good",says she,"*we can get those walls painted".

Oh yeah, that 'I wonder if 'we' should...' or, worse, 'I think 'we' should...' Not to mention 'Do you think it would be a good idea if 'we'....

The latest one was we were scheduled to have some tree work done on a boundary which she thought 'we' should arrange. 'I think 'we' should let the neighbours know...'. I cracked and said 'If you think so, you know exactly where to find them'. She looked at me like I was speaking Klingon

the_priest wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 4:13 pm Just collected my little dog from the vet from being spayed. She is very sleepy and tired/confused. Sleeping outside my office door at the moment. She has on the body suit so she cannot lick her stitches, which is hopefully better than the cone of shame for her comfort.

No long walks for 10 days, poor thing will be bored stiff. Painkillers each morning and light food for a day or two. Bought some chicken fillets which I will cook up in a bit.
Is she calm on the leash? It's only bounding about that's verboten because it might open up the stitches. A few calm walks won't hurt.
She is a maniac on the lead. Bounces around like she is on pogo enabled legs. Very energetic and active. She wanted to race straight up the stairs, but is now banished to the lounge and sleeping there for the next few nights. Poor thing, but her owner, my daughter will sleep with her on the floor (on mattress), so she does not jump up to be next to her.

The 'F' word has been mentioned by the met wankers. The council wankers listen, then start spreading the 'S' word. :(

The seats and the steering wheel automatically heat up on mine if the outside temp is 10c or below :p

If mine did that it might lead to an undesired clash with the massage function :(

In a Rhodes today and the OH was under the weather so I hired a 200cc scooter and just took off into the hills with no idea where I was going.

One of my most enjoyable days on 2 wheels yet so simple. Just buzzing around in T-shirt, shorts and trainers.

Went out with a lass years ago who would spend two weeks on the beach. I did the exact same thing but hired for the two weeks. Think the year i went to Corfu i must have been on every road the island had.

An old friend of mine and his (now) ex-wife hired a scooter on a Greek island. (He rode, not very well, a Lambretta Li150 when we were yoofs so he thought 'no problem'). She thought riding pillion, in flip-flops, would be fine. Ended up with them on a plane back to the UK with her occupying a few spaces, (courtesy of their insurance) with her missing a chunk of one foot.

Oops.

Went to Horrible Fright to pick up another toolbox that was on sale. Not in stock, so paid for it & will pick it up next week, but without the $50 price increase when the sale ends.
This latest one puts me over 30 linear feet of (wheeled) toolboxes.

Looking at what was on the tv and as I was browsing the movies I saw one of the wifes favourite films and said, oh look Mama Mia is on this afternoon. As the words left my mouth...
