Are you sure they really need her there? She doesn't sound that useful.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2023 7:00 pm UPDATE:

Fell down the stairs at 3am this morning.
Not a full Hollywood tumble from the top stair, more a geriatric confusion of left foot vs. right foot on the second from bottom. My fucking toe is throbbing like bastard.

I did that stepping off the village green onto the road at Meavy two weeks ago, proper old person "huck to flat", rolled my ankle, twinged my knee and smacked my elbow, fortunately no one saw it happen.
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"

Re: What have you done today thread?
Woke up this morning, as every bluesman would say, with a stinking cold. Worse still, a forrin cold I reckon, with Viking heritage, raping and pillaging my Anglo-Saxon immune system.
Got three days til we fly out for a cheeky city break to Verona.
Gonna fuck work off and go back to bed. As these may be my last words I should probably say something profound for posterity. Here goes:
Bollocks.

I got a cold, it started about 2 weeks ago then turned into an ear infection. The cold has gone the ear infection hasn't. Perhaps you'll get something similar?

I got a cold which I normally shake off quickly, but it turned into a chest infection which took steroids and antibios to shift. First day back at work today after being off for 2 weeks!! Oh and I'm deaf in one ear too!

Had a bonfire!
Big deal you say!
Well in the land of the garlic sausage, IF they let you have a bonfire, its Oct-March only, and you have to go to the mairie and fill in forms, give them a time and at least 3 days notice and cubic capacity of the fire.
It's not all sun and sausage I'll tell ya

Mrs G has had a cough for the last six weeks I reckon. Keep telling her to see the doc but trying to get an appointment at our GP is like trying to get an audience with the Pope.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Just collected my little dog from the vet from being spayed. She is very sleepy and tired/confused. Sleeping outside my office door at the moment. She has on the body suit so she cannot lick her stitches, which is hopefully better than the cone of shame for her comfort.
No long walks for 10 days, poor thing will be bored stiff. Painkillers each morning and light food for a day or two. Bought some chicken fillets which I will cook up in a bit.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Is she calm on the leash? It's only bounding about that's verboten because it might open up the stitches. A few calm walks won't hurt.the_priest wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2023 4:13 pm Just collected my little dog from the vet from being spayed. She is very sleepy and tired/confused. Having our French Bulldog spayed in a couple of months time. God knows how were going to keep her calm to heal! She does parkour off my living room furniture most nights when she's pestering our Jack Russell!
