Re: NBT: I've bought a Honda!
The Black Widow arrived yesterday, first thing I did was peel off the Black Widow sticker, it took about 2 minutes to get the Honda silencer off and about 15 minutes to get the Black Widow one on, most of that was getting the can sitting correctly once the strap was tightened, with the baffle in it's about the same loudness as the standard, with the baffle out it's louder, I didn't have time to ride it or take photos as I had to go out on the lash last night (I had 2 pints and now I'm feeling a little delicate)

Been out for a ride with the new can with the baffle in, the bike is definitely smoother, especially at low rpm, I don't think it's any faster, and may be a little slower, which doesn't matter as it's got more power than I'm going to use. It also may be quieter, but it's more than it has a different note, it's a less deep noise and now sounds more like my Suzuki did. I think Honda used the original can to give the bike a deeper exhaust note and the twin outlets made it a bit rough at low rpm.

Re: NBT: I've bought a Honda!
A mate of mine bought a dirt cheap stainless can for his Fazer 600, I think it was an ART.
He came with me to buy some bits at my local bike breakers and they had a display with stickers on it... on of them was a Termigoni sticker, it was like £1.50.
He bought it and put it on the art can.
Later that year (2000ish) we went to the Le Man 24 hrs and camped.
There was an almost constant queue of Fronch bikers asking him where he got a Termi can for a Fazer
So... get a 'akro' sticker for that BW can and make loads of friends if you ever go to Fronch.

I think I'd go for a Moriwaki sticker if I was going to do that, but it seems even naffer than having a Black Widow can.
Just had another thought, I wonder what Black Widow looks like in Kanji Japanese.

Stop trying to make a cheap exhaust into something it isn’t. Put the black widow sticker back on it or buy an expensive system! /lgf

Re: NBT: I've bought a Honda!
Went out for about 3 hours this morning, Sudbury, Krazy Horse, Brandon, Thetford and home. I was the first customer in Krazy Horse this morning, the bacon in my sandwich was superb, apart from that a bit of a meh morning, lots of traffic about, some twat on a GSXR1000 who really couldn't ride getting in my way between Norton and Stowmarket, he was slow and dangerous, quite an achievement.
The CB is definitely smoother with the Black Widow can on, not sure if it's a bit slower, or because it's smoother it feels slower, but if it is I found a simple answer, put it in Sport mode, where it's a bit psycho fast.

We swore deputy Tiepin in last month when we needed a posse to deal with Demannu's yellow brake lines.

Also I don't like the switch gear, what you think would be the headlight flasher changes the traction control setting, the horn is practically impossible to press with my thumb, but the indicators are in a good place, this is because there are too many buttons on the left hand switch gear, I don't know why you need to be able to change the rider mode and traction control while riding.
Hmmm, just been and had a look, the not being able to press the horn is probably caused by my gloves, as it seems fine with bare hands

Out this morning with the baffle taken out, it's not as smooth as with the baffle in, it's louder, but not offensively loud, and pedestrians hear it now and don't step out into the road, loud pipes save lives, apart from squirrels, that one is definitely beyond the aid of medical science.

Been out on it again, I think I've done about 1300 miles on it, not bad in 5 weeks.

You're certainly getting some use out of it! I've only done 1340 on my AT since July and I commute on it.

Re: NBT: I've bought a Honda!
I don't commute by bike, it's 11 miles of mostly dual carriageway, it'd take me longer to get the gear on and off than the commute, so all leisure miles, it drinks petrol and is halfway through the rear tyre, but I'm just enjoying riding it, it's fun.
I tried rain mode yesterday, the traction control light comes on a lot in rain mode and it doesn't wheelie, but it was very smooth, easy to ride and still very fast.
