I might have - but I often only realise I've seen a film before after I've watched at least half of it (IYSWIM) because I tend to fall asleep in the boring ones. ;)

It's obvious that Count steer noes.....so yes, it is from Rider Haggard's "She". I haven't read the book either...but it came up on Radio 4 on monday....

I saw it at the proper cinema when I was a mere callow yoof. Ursula quite impressed me. :D (The sequence where she enters the flame for the second time and ages rapidly and turns into a pile of dust was quite :shock: at the time - before all this CGI malarkey).
