A Colgate is a red/white 1200.

It's worth a read though the early posts, there is a wealth of information. I had one of the first chips for them, the K1200 fuel pressure reg is my mod, we went through loads of exhaust configs. All a long time ago and I've forgotten most of it.

I've done a fair bit of reading on there, certainly a lot of good info.
I need to check my ecu and see if chipped, considering it has a decat I'd expect so but you never know! I had a John Gemi chip in my Rockster and that ran really nicely so happy to get his latest product. Been keen to hear if a FPR is also required though....

It's still here!
I had an issue with my cherished number transfer which was only resolved yesterday, and as I'd insured it on that plate I couldn't ride it. First ride likely to be Sunday....

Stuck about 50 miles on it today.....
Notable thing was the handling - its good, actually very good. A little firm maybe, almost feels like it's had a rebuild with new springs and set up properly. Have to remember though that doesnt like gearchanges whilst leant over! Also feels a lot lighter than my ST1050 but can't believe it's that much lighter?
It's loud despite being on Stock cans, also pops and bangs a fair bit. Big induction noise too, not sure if its had any mods on the airbox etc. Need to check if has a chip in the ECU.

Once you get used to the braking forces through your wrists, it's a weapon.

Despite it coming from a dealer I think I'm going to town with a full service, TPS and TB calibration etc. May sneak a Jon Gemi chip in too.....

Stuck a few more miles on the beast.
Noticed last week a slight weep on the fork seals - seals serve little purpose on these other than to keep the lube within the tubes but need sorting nonetheless. Contacted the selling dealer and they have authorised a local indy to do them for me FOC, pretty fair I think as fork seals are generally fair wear and tear.
Decided I didn't like the big red rear light and the orange retro indicators, know has clear lenses all round which IMHO makes the bike look far nicer and modern.
Still enjoy riding it but have decided it's very loud but not in your typical V-twin way, a flat twin way! Ear plugs are a must for me. I will pull the ECU sometime soon and see what chip is fitted, if still OEM I'll be ordering a John Gemi chip. Had one in my old Rockster and it improved the low down fuelling an awful lot.

IIRC:
Undo the top screw holding the fork stanchion into the top yoke,
Twist top yoke to one side, (there's enough freedom of movement in the assembly to allow this)
Pull fork stanchion out of fork slider, (they're not bolted together),
Change seal and reassemble!
I think I'd just do it myself, if the indy isn't a BMW specialist then they might not know how easy this job is
