Loobing your chain when you have a centre stand. Ticking over in 1st gear and just spraying...

2 MOT passes.

Local garage only charges £45 an hour for labour so they can fix the broken suspension coil mine failed on

Tight arses :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Just looked and cigs in UK are about £12 a packet.

Was in supermarket earlier and guy in front asked for a specific pack of fags.
The lass said €2.80 por favor.

He said they were only €2.50 at the other supermarket. Looked disgusted.

The lass put them back on the shelf and lots of giggling and quiet comments from others in the queue :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Had a colonoscopy this morning and the doc found something. He's not put it on the urgent list, but gonna arrange a small procedure to take care of it when the biopsy results come back.
He's not at all worried,, but I'm fucking glad it's been caught early.

Fingers crossed nothing serious.

My employer allows free BUPA screenings every other year, or every year for over 50's. Two of my colleagues have never been but have never been able to explain why they don't go. None of my business, of course, but I suspect it's because they'll get told things they don't want to hear about their lifestyle.

Me personally, I'd rather know sooner then later if there's anything wrong, as I can then try to get it sorted before it has me pushing up daisies.

Hope all turns out ok 👌

I had mine done due to severe abdominal pain. They found a couple of polyps and removed them.

Pain was caused by a mega kidney stone, which was odd as I've had them for thirty years or so. This one was different from the usual.

Good luck @Yorick

After a time two of us joined what someone named the 'three balls club' (I had a hydrocele*, he a cyst), the pub conversion turned one evening to the subject of self-checks.

Half the group (so about 6) said they never did.

Not especially insignificant to me, on two counts!

Firstly my mum just called - on FaceTime!! First time I've seen her in about 4 years. So that was cool. And extra cool that we had a long and civilised conversation - she's mellowing in old age!! We've never had a great relationship so this feels good :D

Secondly, she was expecting me to go over this or next week for my nephew's 18th. When I said that I couldn't she's offered to pay for the flights :o :o

So, neither insignificant but both have made me very happy!! :D :D

I know - but I'm not sure my mother will go that far!!! TBF, it's partly because I was going to go and see her if I went for my nephew's birthday, so this way she can make sure I visit!! :D :D

I messaged my goddaughter to see if she could meet me on Tuesday, fully expecting a no, but it's the only day I have free time at the mo!! She couldn't be asked about the rest of the plans and now she and her fiancé will meet me in Bristol and drive me to other friends in Wells.

Thought that was my main happy for the day but -

got back home and she called me! Video chat. First time we've spoken in AGES, probably years. And the first time I've 'seen' her in forever!! Chatted for 2.5 hours.

I'm grinning like a total loony and am extra happy cos on Sunday we get to have real hugs and do more chatting and catching up!! :D :D :D

Apart from no phone, today is a GOOD day :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde:

Getting a surprise visit from the Gremlinette late last night. :o

As it's freshers' week, and she'd had enough alcohol for the week, she looked at the train times and grabbed a cheap ticket down to Euston where her boyfriend drove to pick her up (Mug!!).
Sitting having a chat at midnight last night. She did have a little cry and told us that she missed us. I did remind her that she'd only been gone six days.

She plans to go back on Saturday, so I might take the train and tube up to Euston with her to keep her company and make the most of the time we have together until the next time she comes down...which is next week as it's her birthday. :wtf: We used to see less of her when she lived here....
