Couldn't install barcode font on tablet for Web app I developed.

Had a brain wave, put the ttf in the root of the site and referenced it in the css.

I'm very much the novice when it comes to asp.net web apps, totally self taught, so I'm quite pleased with myself.

At 9.15 I set off for the 9.30 appointment, already busting for a pee and the car seemed to find every pothole. Had to park in the overflow (no pun intended) car park, thus having a long walk to the hospital and down the corridors to the scanning dept.
I report in, doing the little 'need-a-wee' jig, which the receptionist sympathised with and told me take a seat. I declined as squashing the bladder seemed a bad I idea.
10 minutes later than advertised, I'm on the bed with a sadist doctor pressing as hard as could on my bladder. 'I suspect you need a pee, now' he quipped. Fuck, did I?
Him and the nurse left the room and pointed me to a funnel device that measures flow. I stand there, dick in hand, and out comes the most pathetic dribble of urine you can image. And it goes on. And on. And on...for about 5 mins. Then stops. The machine starts to print out the graph. I sit down, still busting. I wait for five mins, then jeeeeesus, I need a wee again. Better flow and I manage to have, in my mind, a decent wee. In comes the nurse and looks confused at two print outs from her machine. I quip that she's getting a BOGOF deal. Doctor comes back in and looks at me and tells me that he's never really seen that before.
We do another ultrasound on my 'empty' bladder, only for him to tell me that I still have around 500ml in there, more than most people hold in their bladder. He suspects I have a problem emptying my bladder. You reckon, doc? . Oh, and your prostate looks larger than normal, he adds....

To add insult to injury, the nurse looks down at my trousers, so I follow her gaze, only to find I've pissed on them. FFS!

The blood test went ok.... :wtf:
Been there, got the t shirt. And the stains.

Went out for early (not everso!) coffee to practice my french too! Was given some very fresh eggs, so of course I came home to make an english breakfast with the last of my homecured bacon :D

Made some bread - I need to make about a days worth of sarnies cos I have a long wait at the airport on Saturday, so I thought nice bread would be a good one for that :D

Then I moved some stuff. Had two of four shelves on the wall so I moved them (have got rid of a corner shelf so pace for all the little bracket shelves) - couldn't find my little spirit level, but I thought it wouldn't be 'too' bad!!

It is. It's 'that' bad and worse!! But then, most of the stuff I've put up is that bad, so I'll ignore it for now and hope it doesn't trigger any friend that visit!!

The little metal ones and the bin underneath are the wonky ones!! LOL

Everything around is also wonky, but the the four metal ones and the bin are todays effort at wonkiness

I got fed up with rummaging in cupboards for certain things and bought a couple of carousel type things from Lakeland. Designed to fit in a standard wall cupboard. Great for stuff like spices or herbal tea bags etc.

For the 'under the sink' cupboard (where whatever you want is always at the back) I got two tray things with a 1" rim and two little wheels at the back. Just lift a bit and pull and hey presto! they roll out bringing the mysterious 'back of cupboard' items with them. <Fast Show>Brilliant!</FS> :D

One day I'll have the perfect kitchen!! For now I just don't have the space for useful stuff. I don't have any wall cupboards - the undersink one has two spinny shelves - but the guy that plumbed everything in made it difficult to spin them!! LOL

Took dogs 1 & 4 to vets, £300! I seem to be spending money like water at the moment!

Stripping bedroom in readiness for the decorator next week. Took the rad off the wall and of course more water went over the floor than in the buckets.

Awaiting Mrs M to tell me I've stacked all the stuff from our bedroom in the spare room incorrectly.

If that's the case, my next post will be asking how best to build a patio.

Sent the Gremlinette a Red Cross parcel consisting of Haribos, Cadbury Buttons, Candy Kitten bags and some healthy recipe cards I picked up in Waitrose.

The only reason to eat candy kittens is because they're veggie/vegan.

Haribos aren't either.

I figured she could share them around with the other people in her accommodation block. Sense of camaraderie and all that. Hence the somewhat eclectic mix.

The relentless sun here does destroy things.
Including the expensive paintwork on the path at side of house.
So I've spent most of day with my orbital sander and paint scraper prepping it for painting tmrw.

Had to make sure that surface was keyed and get up any flaky or loose bits.

The big area behind the house is still perfect after 5 years.
Different guy did the side path

Beer time now ;)

Do you put up a gazebo over where you're working?

Yesterday the SBH got new headlights, today I'm replacing the missing/broken fasteners, checking oil & putting some air in the tires. New seat covers arrive tomorrow.

Finally managed to get the bike out of the garage & onto the patio, yes I know the flags need repointing, but priorities & all that

Image

To get to this point we had to cut out a door shaped hole & move the door from it's previous position

Image

We blocked up the hole left by removing the door & fitted a window

Image

There's 1 1/2 FZ750's a XT600,SV650 & a Street Triple in there plus a hyraulic bench :wtf:

Once I'm happy with the set up I'll start on the inside of the garage,it's freezing in there mid winter so I'm planning on insulating & boarding out the walls.

I hope you can do a better job of sorting the flags than whoever walked off the job before floating the garage floor.

To drive passengers here (for work, not just in a car privately !!) you have to have a 'yellow card' (!!) to show you have been approved. That just means a quick check in at the doctor, then send off the paperwork and it lasts for 5 years.

My first one came through when they temporarily stopped sending actual cards and just sent a letter

Then, after that expired, I took the medical but broke my leg before I sent off the papers

Last year I had the medical again (and also another one, same doc, for the driving licence!). But when I sent off for hte yellow card I was told they wouldn't give me one because my uk driving licence card expired in December. I couldn't get another UK one and the system here struggled with my name change!

Today, because my French licence arrived this week, I've been for the medical, again!!! The doctor laughed, we're almost on first name terms!! So now I have a medical again and can send off my application for the yellow card :bblonde: :bblonde:

Once that arrives, I have another copy of the medical so I can apply for a VTC licence. This allows me to drive a single passenger (for work) without a taxi licence :D

Here's hoping these two processes are simpler than actually getting the driving licence
