Stinky bait, hopefully you can do better than that.

It’s a bit of stinky bait, but he does have a point. My new clockwork bike is so much nicer downhill and on the flat. It’s quieter smoother and just has more finesse, jumps are landed so nicely too. I like both equally but the ebike is very much a sledgehammer albeit a fast one

So your love affair with your eBike earlier in this thread has been replaced with your next love affair.Couchy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 8:12 pmIt’s a bit of stinky bait, but he does have a point. Re: Commuting ebike / My ebikes
I’ve no idea what the fuck you are on about tbh.
It’s no surprise a 12kg bike is better in places than a 25kg bike is it, but If you don’t agree I don’t give a fuck, maybe don’t fucking reply

Re: Commuting ebike / My ebikes
Of course some bikes are better in places than others. Was at Bike Park Wales on Friday and given uplifts my old Trek Fuel EX would have been more fun than my Trek Rail. But by choice I only want one bike and for what I do overall the Rail does a better job. If you want to have several different bikes for different conditions then that's cool, but not my bag. MTB'ing is mainly what I do with my wife, and when there's not enough to kite surf. Simple as.

Re: Commuting ebike / My ebikes
So loving the lightweight of the analogue bike…..but and it’s a huge but my arthritic knee which was the reason I night my first ebike 5-6 years ago doesn’t like it one bit. I can spin all day long at a given effort but if I have to stand and grind a gear up a steep hill the knee gives in and I spend a week in pain and limping. I had a couple rides back out on the ebike and I’ve been sulking as it was like a heavy monster truck with no finesse. I’ve left it a week or two still sulking but today went out with a fwend and visited Grenoside in Sheffield. Finally mojo back and ebike was great for exploring somewhere I don’t know and felt good in the steel city DH. Even got some air
I’ll have a new knee in a few years but for now the new bike is being sold and I’ll ebike all my riding from now on.

Re: Commuting ebike / My ebikes
Aye, the ebike assist was sort of masking how bad my knee could be, on the ebike my av HR is higher but it’s more a cardio workout whereas on the normal bike at times it’s more of a strength thing. But onwards I’m still out and about which I have to be thankful foririe wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 9:36 pmTime comes to all of us.Couchy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 13, 2022 6:49 pm So loving the lightweight of the analogue bike…..but and it’s a huge but my arthritic knee which was the reason I night my first ebike 5-6 years ago doesn’t like it one bit. Re: Commuting ebike / My ebikes
Been a while…the trek rail 5 is still here. I added a lightweight ebike to the stable and tbh good as it was I prefer the full fat e-bikes. I really must get round to selling it, Orbea rise it is and 300 miles old
As I’d had the trek rail going on two years I picked up a speciliazed turbo Levo comp in a recent sale. Brose motor and more reliable than they used to be, bike is a mullet and running fix suspension. Rides superbly and better than the rail but that’s prob the better forks and shock. Still prefer the bosch motor as although on paper it’s less powerful it feels stronger than the spesh, the spesh is more natural feeling though. I’d like the spesh frame and feel with the bosch motor…..so I stuck a 27.5” rear in the trek and some fox forks. Completely transformed it . So I’m mixing rides between the two and more than happy
