Marquez to Gresini...?

Post by ChrisW »

Oscar Haro has said that he's definitely going to join his brother - and is taking RedBull, Repsol and Estrella Galicia with him!

That will be mega if he does - 🤞🏻

I really want to see MM on a Ducati , he's still got it and would take it to Baggy, and the rest of them IMO 8-)

Gresini couldn't afford his huge salary. But he'll bring sponsorship with him.

How about MM to stay at Honda. MM says he knows who he's riding for and has a contract for next year but won't say who with. Alberto Puig told Simon Crafar as far as he's concerned MM is contracted to Honda for 2024. Listening to the commentary on today's practice they reckoned it could well be a publicity stunt to keep MM relevant.

If the next Honda is shit, they'll wish MM had gone.
They'll be paying him gazillions to ride round at the back again.

How about if the 2024 Honda isn't shit, but isn't amazeballs - i.e the best MM could get is regular top 10, the occasional top 5 with one or two podiums thrown in but no wins? That would try his patience almost as much as the current (definitely shit) Honda is doing.

I saw a report today where MM basically said he isn't there to make up the numbers.
He wants to be vying for a win every race. Why risk injuring himself again to get a 10th.
He went under huge surgery to break his arm and reset it.
He's a winner. Anything else is pointless.

Yeah, I fully understand that, but nothing in life is guaranteed. He's lead a charmed life up until a couple of years ago, and he's now seeing the downside. Happens to everyone at some point. I think that deep down he's actually more than a bit apprehensive at the prospect of leaving Honda. It's all he's known for nearly 10 years.

None of these riders sign up to finish 10th; they all want to win.

If HRC hire who he wants and he doesn't win the championship in 2024 or 2025 nobody is going to want to employ him, especially HRC

The BT commentators discussed that idea :)

They also said that the official test tomorrow will say a lot. If MM gets loads of shiny new bits to test, he's staying. If he gets nowt posh, he's going :D

There's a 3rd option. Wonder what that is?

That's an absolutely bizarre state of affairs though, why the hell have they got engineers who've hardly worked on it ? Why does he not know his own engineer ? I mean seriously WTF...
